Liverpool Football Club - The Rumour Mill

I watched the Russia and Sweden game last night.  To be honest it was my first time seeing Arshavin in action but he seems quite a player.  His strength in holding off challenges, eye for a killer pass and his finish for the second goal had Kenny Dalglish qualities.  If he comes to the premiership though I'd imagine Abramovich would bring him to Chelsea given the Russian connection.

Getting a bit fed up of the whole farce to be honest. Either O Neil is stubbornly holding a player who wants to leave or Barry is farting about. Either way I am getting to the point where I just want them to feck off.

John Arne Riise exit may hit Liverpool's bid for Gareth BarryJun 19 2008

by David Prentice, Liverpool Echo

JOHN ARNE RIISE completed a £4m switch to Roma today. But the move could complicate Liverpool's attempted capture of Gareth Barry from Aston Villa.

Ever since the Reds’ interest in the Villa captain was made public, boss Martin O’Neill has insisted he will not deal at anything less than £18m.

But with Liverpool constantly stressing that figure is over-priced, and now angrily threatening to pull out of negotiations and switch their attentions elsewhere, O’Neill is prepared to listen to cash plus player deals.

The problem, however, is that Riise was O’Neill’s preferred choice of Liverpool’s available talent, but he has now completed his move to Serie A in a deal initially worth £4m, rising to £4.5m.

Scott Carson may now become a makeweight in a transfer saga which has become frustrating for all parties.

The whole situation is a farce. Seriously, if we can't  tie up a deal within 1 week because O'Neill is playing hardball, then Liverpool FC should pull out and look else where.  Sure JAR was one player O'Neill was looking at but he's gone to Roma. So who else can we off load to AV apart from Carson to make the Barry move happen?

I think O'Neill would have Crouch in a heartbeat but I don't think the big fella wants to go back there.

The BBC's coverage of the Euro's has been hilairious with Martin O'neil as the butt of most jokes ,they seem to employ him as the parochial clown ,which makes this jesters stance on Barry all the more galling .
Liverpool are being held to ransom by a manager who would be more suited starring in Father Ted .

O'Neill is a horrible c*nt who needs to get his end away and can't, because no f*cker is desperate enough to be dipped in by that pr*ck.

This deal gives me memories of the Simao deal. I hope it ends differently.

And how much of a joke was he with his constant defence of Domenech the other night ?
He sounded like he wanted to pummel the bushy eyebrowed french one from the rear all over the wankdorf stadium.

I am kind of becoming more and more hesitant at this deal. I really don't think it is worth it when we have a great player in Alonso. Sure, however, he has not been on top form as of late due to injuries and confidence but look at him in the Euro. He has been great, especially his full game against Greece. I think we should really stick with Alonso and be spending this money on a top winger like David Silva.
