He has never played at CL level and never even really played at the top end of international level.


These kind of statements are bollox IMO, granted Barry isnt worth anything near 20 million. But because he hasnt played at CL and "top end international" level doesnt mean we shouldnt buy him. 14 million tops.

May I remind purorsu that we brought in Ian Rush from Chester, and what happened there ? Dont get booged down in the bright lights and the hype of the CL. tThere are many good footballers out there who dont play CL football, think outside the box, just not Jamie Milner type  :D

we could go and buy deco for less than barry would cost. deco's been absolute class in the euro's so far.

We could buy Robhino or Pirlo for less.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

The thing that separates Barry from players like Deco, Robinho or Pirlo would be that he actually wants to play for Liverpool. Deco wouldn't come here, granted we have come a long way and have players like Gerrard and Torres but not enough to attract players who could choose between us and Chelsea or Inter etc.

Totally agree with everything that has been said. Would have been a good addition at 10/12 million but 15 million plus, no way ,time to walk away. Martin O'Neill obviously wants to keep him ,so grant him his wish ! :rasp

My conclusion. Rafa's been negotiating with the wrong Villa. :D

ok, everyone can stop thinking about david villa because it's clear we don't have much money, and if he continues to perform like the other day only Abramovic can afford him.

If he said that I guess it can only be good. And I remember him running directly to the bench to hug Torres after he got his hattrick.
However transfer fees are the most important thing!

When did he say us? I read he said Arsenal but didnt hear our name in there.

Anyway why dont we just buy Aimar and Milner and then we are sorted.
