I thought the movable type tribute looked fantastic.  The rest was also impressive but it gets a bit samey after an hour or so.  I did chuckle when all the people in ethnic costumes handed the flag over to the soldiers.  No symbolism there! :D

I love the olympics. Impressive fireworks in the opening ceremony. Loads of millions of dollars wasted in a gay ceremony while children die in famine in Africa, but we all love those colisseum-esque shows from time to time.

Impressive the cycling stage with the Great Wall as background. Difficult to be on a bike with so much humidity and that rythm.

I've seen a couple of swimming shows of Phelps too.

It's nice to watch some sports every 4 years. I'm looking forward to see the basketball and handball competitions.

Fook 'em.

By now, they should have learned to irrigate their lands.

Money is better spent on the Olympics.

At least it's enjoyable.

That opening ceremony was amazing.

I thought the opening ceremony was good, one bit I did find a bit hypocritical was when they had the little children on (I think) drawing on a huge matt or something. Then the commentator here said, this part of the ceremony is about looking after the planet for the future of our kids, as the ice caps are melting blah blah blah. Then I thought, 'well blow me down with a feather, this is being staged in the smog capital of the world. ' :D
