If owen doesnt get to play for real an ends up in reserves an realises hes made a mistake could we buy him back???
Ive read this morning he didnt want to leave but raffa thought otherwise and thought 100 grand a week for 2 years was to much for owen ???  and decided to cash in on him now maybe he didnt realise how much help owen would have been for us this season i dont know ??? one things for sure is its going to be hard for him to play in any game

OWEN: MY REAL BATTLE BEGINS Aug 15 2004

MICHAEL OWEN completed his £8million move to Real Madrid facing a huge battle for a first-team place.

Owen will fight Raul, Fernando Morientes and Brazilian star Ronaldo.

The England star said: "I'm looking forward to the challenge.

"Raul, Ronaldo and Morientes are three of the best strikers in the world.

"I'm very aware how hard I will have to work to get an opportunity here. But it is a fantastic challenge and I can't wait to pull on the famous Real Madrid shirt, because I'm now playing for the best team in the world."

Owen will wear the number 11 shirt vacated by Javier Portillo and knows he faces a major fight to establish himself as a first team regular.

Portillo was a prolific striker at youth level for Real Madrid, but last season he started just three games before being farmed out on loan to Italian Serie A side Fiorentina.

Owen added: "My dad has been telling me about the great Real Madrid players of the 1960s.

"He says Alfredo Di Stefano and Ferenc Puskas were unbelievable and that Paco Gento used to be the quickest in the land. That is why I am so proud to be wearing the number 11 shirt.

Real president Florentino Perez admitted that Owen would have to fight for his place in the side.

He said: "He has to accept no guarantees come with the shirt.

"There are many games in the season and all of the players will face the same challenge."

id love him back tomorrow
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Thats interesting. I read the Owen was demanding £100,000 a week over a two year span, Benitez thought it was too much though.

I also read that Owen has hit out saying it wasn't greed...what else can you call £100,000 per week?

But supposedly Owen has took a pay cut in wages to join Real, i dson't know what to make of it!

I think something has been up with Michael for a while, which could relate to his poor form.

That is interesting, maybe Owen was stalling to see if LFC was going to make it into CL and what kind of money they were going to pay him so at the end he went to Madrid.

Maybe so, i do believe in all my heart something has been bothering him for a while. His scoring record this last while hasn't been up to scratch by his standards, but when i think of it, even his body language on the pitch has indicated hes not happy. He possibly could have been waiting for Real to make their move on him for a while, he does some very happy at the move...i know any player would be, but hes overly happy, even speaking in Spanish at the press conference!

Yes I notice that too. It has been a long time since he smiled in the Red colours, but in Madrid he seems happy in every photo.

If you ever watch any of his games from last season, watch how he runs about. His body is saying "im dissapointed, i wanna go". He did start to thaw out a little bit towards the end of the season, but hes never been like the past Owen when he looked so proud to be wearing our shirt.

As I haven't  lived in the UK since 74, I am amazed at MO'S rise and  in his first World Cup.I was estastic he was our man.

Since then...well I think he has sunk . I hope he has great days ahead, but.......

HE DOESN"T PLAY FOR US ANYMORE.
