They were saying on sky today that when at Valencia he request a forward and the president bought him a midfielder he said "I asked for a sofa and he bought me a lamp"

It was no great secret (to those who follow Spanish football) that the bane of Behithez's contention at Valencia was the Sporting Director. This was the guy who bought "the lamp instead of the sofa" and he had had a running battle with the Sporting Director for sometime. If I am not mistaken, this guy was relieved of his post at the end of the season when it became clear to the Valencia directors that Benithez is being courted by Liverpool. But it was a gesture which was too little too late.

Since joining us hes been fond of the table comment. Something like 'If a table has four legs you do not need another leg, if it has three you must buy a leg'. Think maybe hes talking about balance of the team lol
