Why no games in the usa

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

When H&H took over there was a big bit about us getting ready for the this new football year by playing 6 games in the U.S.

As this has not happened do you think this is due to the way G&H are seen in the U.S.

or dou you think Rafa just felt it would be better to play some :censored: games near to home so our player that have not had a rest can just join up when they feal ready.

I know that MLS really wanted to get LFC for their all star game that was just held on thursday. West Ham played instead.

Why should LFC go to the US?
Just because those two bast@rds are from there?

Personally im glad they did'nt go.What would it benifit us?
All it would do is increase the profile of G&H and make them more money that they probably will keep rather than put back into the club.
It would actually sicken me because our team would be paraded about and look like G&Hs rent boys.
Would be a waste of time anyway,95% of Americans dont give a fu'ck about football and probably could'nt tell you the offside rule!

lol i think its due to the profile of G&H right now why we did not go.

Apart of me feel that same of the games in the warm up have been of no use, The team are working hard all day and end it by playing a game, i am not sure thats the right way to do it.

before the start of the new year we need to see our full team for 45 mins to so they can understand eachother again, i know SG is out.

I think all friendlies now should be played with pretty much the full strength team.

Perhaps the cost & benefit ratio of hosting such an event or a group of events would not bring revenue to the club and would likely mean the opposite. It would cost too much for the club to have such an event hosted, compared to the potential of the revenue generated by shirt sales would be of no consequence or at least wouldn't make the event worth undertaking.

After all, North America nor America at this moment is really the market to tap up. If you want to host an oversees friendly tournament, go to China or South Korea, not America or South Africa where people aren't exactly capable of dishing out money at this moment.

:nod , have to agree completely with this , there's a wider football market here , Maybe hicks and gillete knew that if they played there there would not be much revenue nor coverage , as like barry has said , very few americans watch english football

whenever Barca come over they sell out 90,000+ capacity NFL stadiums  I am sure that LFC could reach similar numbers. OK the dollar might be low right now, but there are still a ton of people over here and its not like we are in third world conditions.

Let the haters hate, can't change their minds  :(

But I know what you mean, LA vs NY had great numbers for a MLS game in giants stadium, around 50,000 I think was there.  (Maybe 40)

Maybe there are a few reasons, possibly the yanks organising the MLS didn't offer us enough to play that game, maybe it came with strings that we had to play Torres etc, maybe the friendlies we're committed to are just that and the club doesn't want to break committments or maybe they feel the trip to USA would be too draining at this stage of pre-season.

OR who gives a feck........... :D
Never buy from PC World, product quality is poor and their 'customer service' is even poorer

I was at that game last summer and it was 66,000 I think. This year was smaller (no jozy altidore for NY because he moved to Villareal and there was a lot less publicity) but I think it still drew 47,000.   And NY is at the bottom of the table this year.
