Dana Torres, 41, Makes Olympic Team



Dara Torres, turned back the hands of time Saturday night at the 2008 Olympic Team Trials in Omaha, Nebraska.  In front of a sold-out arena, Torres not only became the oldest U.S. swimmer to make an Olympic team, she became the first American swimmer to make five Olympic teams.  She won the 100M freestyle, beating favorite Natalie Coughlin and posting a time of 53.78.  Coughlin came in second with a time of 53.83 and grabbed the second spot on the Beijing roster.

Commenting on her improbable achievement, Torres said, "I was very surprised that I won."  She added: "I'm ecstatic. I can't believe it."


Not bad for a 41 year old eh?

Just makes you think what will happen if Torres really gets injured.  He is such a crucial cog in the machine.  We are fooked if we are are relying on Kuyt and Voronin to score.  To think Rafa is going for Barry is just mad considering how our other strikers are.
