Where has all the money gone?

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I remember when growing up (i am 30 btw) us always buying the best players around, no matter what other clubs were interested.

We would always bring the top signings in.  Then Manure burst on the scene and you can see where there money came from and Chelskis is obvious too.

BUT, what happened to all our money??  I read in another post that GH wasted over 100 million of sub standard players whilst in charge.

But surely there is something fundamentaly wrong when a club as mighty and prestigous as ours cant compete in the market.

Ok, we have the new stadium comng which will bring us extra revenue.  We can sell the Liverpool brand name across the world.  Seems like the other 2 teams have a massive head start, how could this have happened???

I think that the board and the powers that be are living in the dark ages and need a massive shakeup - let Steve Morgan in please!!!

The other top clubs, would never have allowed the Owen situation to have happened.  8 million for a player who 2-3 years ago they were throwing around a value of 30 million, the situation is ridiculus.

Its all very well getting in a new quality coach, clearing out players, bringing in new - BUT - i think it far more imortant that the powers that be are shaken up, completly.

We can be greatful for what the Moores have done in the past, but they must realise when it is time for fresh blood in suits too!  :)
