I liked the first season of Invasion but in true American network form they canned it ??? WTF is wrong with these networks and then on top of that England caught the bug and canned Hex aswell.

So own up Misty, Buffy or Angel ?   :D

I never got into the former but eventually got hooked on Angel. Loved the character of Spike (the english vampire) . when the show finally closed I was praying for a Spike spin off. I guess praying wasn't the right thing to do.   :D

Funny you should that say Woof

As Alway enjoy a vampire story I actually quite enjoyed first couple of seasons of Buffy with great writing and characters
(Joss Wheldon does some great work, still missing firefly)
After that though it became some what teen angst soapie  for me and I didnt bother with Angel spin off

Last year caught a episode of last series of Angel on late night and was hooked. Caught the series out and really enjoyed the show with a great blend of humour and darkness.
The Spike character was excellent and the series certainly went out with a bang

The first three seasons of Buffy were boss.  Nothing at all like it on telly at the time.  Seasons 4 & 5 were disappointing and Seasons 6 & 7 were bordering on cringe-worthy.  Angel I enjoyed throughout--mostly because Angel (the character) wasn't just a big p.ussy like he was on Buffy--but I've never considered rewatching the show or getting the DVDs.  I may need to reconsider, though...it's dark humour alone is well worth another look.  And, yes, Spike is a fantastic character.  I also quite like the dude that plays Bernard on Lost as the Wolfram and Hart lawyer and Skip the hell demon!  My only beef with that show was the focus on the emo-teen Connor for so long. :D

buffy the musical episode was funny tho, dont care what anyone says. i think the series held up well, but whedon knows how to make a show. firefly was class, but another one stupidly cancelled for no reason, altho there is talk of a second film

The musical episode was indeed excellent, mate.  It was a rare glimmer of quality, though, in a season that was not up to the standard set earlier in the series.  The whole Buffy-Spike hook up stuff was too much, IMO, and her angsty return-from-heaven moping--while an interesting story twist on paper--fell quite a bit flat, I thought.

No question, though, that Whedon is a genius and, I agree--the cancelling of Firefly after basically half a season was the greatest television injustice in history (maybe a slight exaggeration but that show was sublime!). :nod
