Do you see any option to remove cookies?  If so, apply it, some browsing info will be lost but you can live with that.

If it's not the case, it's not your fault and will be solved with time. Even if it works for me right now, google have a lot of servers, so actually the machine attending your petition might be fúcked.

Does it happen with other sites aswell mate?

for instance, try this,

Sorry to be spamming this topic but I have just noticed now that I if I open the home page on the browser I am using now and type in a site yahoo,Facebook etc it opens a page that just has letter of the Alphabet down the left hand side instead of a list of possible sites. I tried it gain and it sent me to a yellow pages search !!!

I think my P.C has some sort of virus , I have already done a system restore and carried out all the available scans and cleaning of drivers !!

Destro mate, I'm willing to help a lot, but if you have problems since the times in which you couldn't get your emoticons right, you probably have your windows fúcked up.

Helping that kind of stuff is difficult in the distance. If you know how to activate remote desktop I'd help you as an online IT happily and for free while you see how I move your mouse, and will sort it out.

If you don't want to activate that, I'm afraid you'll have to format and install windows again because your windows seems to be infected and messed up.  :(

Let me know what you prefer, if you want my help you have it. Not today, I'm busy, but yes during the week.

Is your comp an AMD one Destro? Have you downloaded SP3 for XP? If so just uninstall SP3.

If not, before you re-format I would try a windows repair.

Definitely, good advice.

But bear in mind this for the repair:

If you have SP1 installed, do the repair with a SP1 CD
If you have SP2 installed, do the repair with a SP2 CS

If you make a repair of a SP2 install with for instance the original CD you had with SP1 or before, you'll get a blue screen of death at the end of the process.

Thanks Sabre and the rest for your help and ideas ( even though some of them went over my head :) ) as you can probably see by the use of Smileys again I have managed somehow to sort it out. The Firefox home page STILL wont load but I have just changed the home page to Google for now, Firefox itself is letting me connect to the internet and surf through it, I have no idea what has happened to the home page though ??? .

I have stopped using I.E ( that's the one that wont let me use Smileys Sabre ) all that is doing is loading a search results page as letters of the Alphabet ? but since I am not using I.E anymore I am not to worried about it, fingers crossed it looks like my P.C is virus free so I am happy with that.

Once again thanks everyone for your help. :bowdown
