I wish him the best. Now I got to think of who's going to play Left Wing in my FIFA 09 online matches. Our wingers suck in that game.

but i do value their opinion, as they have knowledge of the club & the players who
play week in week out, thats why when it comes to players like JAR i will agree to
disagree with those who think he has been sh1t for us, cause although i think
he didn"t have his best season for us last year,he has given me personally
some fantastic memories in his time with us, the best for me & believe me
you had to be at the game to really understand where i"m coming from
was against the bitters hence the song born from the albert cd (the 12th man)
cause we sang & we danced & we shook the ground that"s made of wood
JAR scored against the sh1t! magic memories that will never go away!
a player who loved the club, & i"m sure he"s gutted to be leaving aswell
for me there are players who should have been sold before him, as his
commitment was never in question, good luck in the future JAR.
as far as i"m concerned you can leave the club with your head
held high.

good post mate  :nod

I think we could of got 7, scoring against Reina in a semi-final is a really hard thing to do.

JAR scored some really memorable goals for us - that piledriver against Manure will always make me smile. He was a good loyal servant to the club and worthy of the beloved shirt.
I really hope his career takes off again in Serie A, where i think his style is better suited to be honest.

I actually think/thought Riise was probably not deserving of some of the stick he got. He was another like Sissoko who never really took to being in and out of the team as far as I could see, being very much what appeared to be a "confidence" player. He is no world beater, but not a bad player either and if encouraged to get forward, will always chip in with half a dozen goals or so if played regularly. Probably time to go for all concerned, but a decent servant to the club and I reckon most fans will wish him all the best.

SOrry to bring this up again but this man to class.

Liverpool are only club for me
JOHN ARNE RIISE insists he had no choice but to quit England — because he could not see himself playing for any club other than Liverpool.

Riise, 27, joined Roma earlier this summer after realising his chances of regular football would be limited at Anfield this season.

A host of Premier League clubs approached him but the Norwegian admits he could never join another English club.

Riise said: "It was sudden. One day I was a Liverpool player, the next I was going to leave.

"I just wanted to make sure I got the best possible club.

"There was no way I was going to be comfortable playing for another English club — and I had plenty of offers in the Premier League.

"I didn't have to leave Liverpool because I had another year left on my contract.

"But I wanted to be playing regularly and I didn't feel that would happen this season if I stayed.

"I spent seven years at Liverpool and played more than 250 games.

"The challenge in Italy was the right one for my career and the time was right to change to another country.

I saw those remarks too...well in JAR! :nod

On Riise, I've got this niggling worry that Dosenna won't prove to be much of an improvement.  Like the Barry in/Alonso out moves (if they ever happen), this strikes me as a weird situation where we've sacrificed an established (albeit not at his best) player for a new fella with roughly the same quality.  The trouble, of course, is that we've paid over the odds to do so and traded a lad who was already settled and up to speed with the tactics for someone who will take time to bed in.  I know, I know, it's early days and we shouldn't jump on Dossena's back before he has a chance to come good and blah, blah, blah...  Still, it's (another) curious decision by the gaffer. ???

I have no qualms about Riise's departure, in the past two seasons he didn't just stagnate, he seemed to get worse. I have reservations about his replacement, and although it's it's way too early to make a final judgement call, it looks as if he lacks too much defensively in order to succeed. Curious that Riise's gone? Not at all. Curious about his replacement? Very much so.

I thought that dossena was good in the 2nd half against sunderland where when he pushed up further, thus we attacked more  and we got some decent crosses into the box . He also did not let diouf get past him in the 2nd half .

Yes, he certainly looked better in the second half, with some good challenges.  That said, it wasn't a eye-catching performance and I was especially worried with how little width he provided.  If the plan is to play wide midfielders who like to cut inside and to use the fullbacks to provide the width on the overlap then it would certainly be nice to see said fullbacks get forward.  Dosenna seemed reluctant to venture too far north of the halfway line all game and thus failed to provide much of an outlet down the left flank.  When he did get the ball, he tended to send it right back to the CB or CM who fed him in the first place.  I hope he proves a bit more adventurous at Anfield this weekend.
