He played his part in keeping LFC´s head above the water during difficult times. Solid, unglamourous and ginger.

I wish him well.

The statement said: “As part of ongoing negotiations with Liverpool football club regarding the signing of John Arne Riise, Roma have been authorised to deal with the agent of the player.”

:D

I think this will be exactly what he needs.  A very good player for us at times but grew ever more stale as the years rolled on.  Still he's got plenty of time left in his career and a new challenge in Serie A will suit him.  Thanks for the many wonderful memories, Ginge, and best of luck in Roma.  Here's hoping they draw the Mancs again in the CL this season and Riise revisits that screamer he scored against them a few years back. :D

Rarely injured, always worked hard, and scored some vital goals (usually in the right net :D  ) Had a lot of personal problems over the last couple of seasons that have probably had an affect on his form.   Best of luck Riise.

One of my personal favourates was the one against the Chavs in the carling cup final. No one talks about it as we lost that day but as far as the goal goes it was hit with superb technique.
