Agreed Joe, I think the material could have easily spanned 3 seasons without too much loss of quality but I expect budget was the problem. Loved Deadwood as well but that ended well before its time, bloody studio execs

Tudors series is sitting in our new weekly section of video shop, im waiting for it to be old weekly before i check it out

Yeah Dawson firefly was brilliant but i never even heard of fastlanes

woof, did you ever watch brotherhood? Jason Isaacs at his best, and i still say Chuck is a good watch.

and for an old show, and possibly one of the best shows ever made, murder1 season one or two, both are genius!

Thinking of  :pirate  Chuck Daws, you mentioned it earlier so I did a quick google, it could be fun (?). Never heard of Brotherhood but did catch Murder One first time around.

Band of Brothers was brilliant TV. Probably really the last excellent show on TV that I can remember.TV needs more of stuff like that.
The first series of Heroes was good after watching it, which I was reluctant to do, but it was surprisingly good. The second series, however, was not so good. Terrible in parts, in fact. Hope  it gets better when it returns.

I also watched a show called Jericho a few months back on the computer. It was actually a decent show that got better and better as it went on. Sadly it wasn't pulling in the viewers and they axed it after 2 seasons, or a season and a half.

Band of Brothers was top quality .

Surprised to hear about Jericho ER. Are you sure it's axed. I thought season two finished after seven episodes because of the writers strike . Damn, things were just getting really interesting with various "states" squaring up and the nuclear bomb on it's way to Texas.

Band of Brothers was top notch stuff and really surpassed Saving Private Ryan's depiction of World WarII for me (not often a TV series manages to surpass a movie).

The good news is that Spielberg and Hanks(Tom) are producing a sequel series called “The Pacific” and not surprisingly it's gonna be set in the pacific theatre. This is supposedly due for airing in 2009.

Yep. Jericho got axed. If you watched it from start to finish, you'd have noticed that it started to gather a frantic pace with some of the lead characters getting into all kinds of sh*t and some dropping like flies. These were probably highlighted plot developments that the writers had wanted to drop a bomb on viewers with gradually over a period of a few seasons rather than the one and a half that they were given. The last episode had a lot going on, probably too much, but it was because it was re-written to tie up ends in the story. It's a shame, because it had a lot of potential to go further and was a really well done show. It's probably what would really happen if something like that took place.
