Tbh nanny, dont think thats his fault, think it was the instructions given by Aragones. Senna was dropping into right back when he went forward. There were still big gaps at times but thought that Ramos was just doing what he was asked to do cos there was no right winger.

I see where your coming from Ace but he hasnt got the pace to get back and help he got caught loads up on the bye line and his crossing im not sure about . I love ramos but id prefer him central

Possibly, he can play both.
Again though the formation/system asks alot of him, too much i think, against better teams that will be a position where they could get exploited.
With no right midfielder covering him the gap is too big, Senna gets back at times but Spain if Ramos concedes posession are giving away about 40-50 yards of space at times. Imagine the dutch on the counter if they played them ?

Anyway am happy, am drinking magners, Villa has already signed on the sly and nobody knows, and the boring greeks are getting comfortably beaten  :)

ramos should be playing centre back with puyol, or someone like albiol should be there. the marchena and puyol 'partnership' is a disaster waiting to happen against better sides. i also just read somewhere that villa's buy out clause is 130 million.... that can't be true, can it?

A commanding performance by Spain but the Russian defending was appalling.  How exactly did England conspire to lose to that rabble? ???

Torres was lively but his shooting wasn't as deadly as we've grown accustomed to seeing.  Beautiful run to set up the Villa goal, though.  It was disappointing to see him come off, as I fancied him to bag one.  Nice to see Alonso come on and play well and did anyone else think we might see Pepe for the next match after Casillas got flattened? :D  He seems to be okay, though.

As with the Dutch, I won't get too carried away just yet.  Let's see how they go against Sweden.
