No problem Nanny, I think she was half cut at the time also as she said you sounded like a nice geezer. :upside:  :D

I knew she didnt think you was a woman, as she talked to me straight afterwards, usually its the silent treatment.  :D

apparantly its to do with the magnetic field on the earth at the place of your birth has an effect.

if you move some distance from that place, the brain can experience a feeling of loss, or if you like homesickness.

the brain can be directly influenced by those fields, especially in the developing brain and can indeed promote strong feelings of the homesickness, even in the absense to that person as to why.

in short, the magnetic field of the earth is different all over, and as such could, as it is hypothesised, create those feelings.

even for those who were born many miles away from where they live now, can feel homesick, even if there life has almost been spent away from their birthplace, and have no memory of being there, as they were too young to remember!!

there are exceptions to this rule but.......

interesting aint it

...and then you look at the beautiful countryside we have over here. Places like North yorkshire or parts of Suffolk or up towards the peak district, Eden Vally, cumbria. Places that are untouched/unspoilt by development. In the area i live in North yorkshire our villages have really low crime rates and we dont get antisocial behaviour from youths. York hospital is clean, the markets are hustle and bustle but without any problems. If someone bumps into you they say sorry, not hurl abuse at you. This country has some lovely places to live. Makes me proud to be british.

if you dont like it you have a choice, dont come back. simple as.

fecknig well said. this country has a shed load of problems, but most are caused byt he idiots who live here. personally i think the further north you go the nicer the people are...
but things will never change if people just leave, the hospitals that i know of are nice, the councils are very helpful from my experience and things could be so much fecking worse.
the main prob we have is the nany state, no smoking, no drinking, no fun really.

but i love it here, the only other country id consider moving to is scotland, but england is still a great country
