1 big name and plus a few lesser signings.
We don't have the money to build a team in 1 summer, but we have to do it like this for a few years in order to have a more powerful team.

I'd suggest a big name in defence.

Liverpool's problem in recent years has been filling up the squad with too many average signings and not enough big signings.

Certainly he would offer a stronger attacking threat than Yossi. While at the same time. ticking most if not more...boxes in the Garcia mould. A component that the squad has missed in my view.

He's on the decline. Though with Zaragoza being relegated he could be a cheap gamble.

No, Liverpool's problem is that the players we already have don't finish off teams. Far too many draws have cost us. I don't think we need "big names". We just need players with a ability to see out a 1-0 win.

Rafa To Swoop For Garcia?

Liverpool are leading the race to sign Real Zaragoza forward Sergio Garcia, according to reports…

The 24-year-old has established himself as one of La Liga’s most promising attackers over the past few seasons, earning interest from several clubs across Europe.

Tottenham boss Juande Ramos is known to be a keen admirer of the former Barcelona trainee, and has long been linked with a move for the former Barcelona trainee.

But according to AS, the Reds are preparing to swoop for the ex-Levante striker, who was recently called up to Luis Aragones’ Spain squad for EURO 2008.

Rafa Benitez will be looking to strengthen his attacking options for next season, as Peter Crouch and Andriy Voronin are near-certainties to leave Anfield this summer.

Zaragoza’s relegation means Garcia will almost definitely be moving on, and although his contract contains a release clause of around ₤12 million, compatriots Ramos and Benitez could be forced into a bidding war for their fellow Spaniard.

With the Blanquillos preparing for a mass exodus, Benitez may be doing quite a portion of his shopping at La Romareda during the off-season.

Argentine attackers Diego Milito, Andres d’Alessandro and Pablo Aimar could well find their way onto Rafa’s wish-list, and the latter could be keen to link up with the man who coached him to two La Liga titles with Valencia.

Chelsea just buy names to sell t-shirts.

It's Man Utd who are the benchmark.

Micah Richards and Fabiano for example should certainly be within our reach.

Messi and Kaka, no chance.

Well, while we haven't got a big star signing just yet, with this Degen dude and this Italian bloke, at least something is happening. This summer, Rick Parry should not go on holiday. He should stay at LFC and get some work done. I'm sure he can go one year without visiting Club Tropicana.

Rick Parry has let the club down big time when it comes to transfers the amount of players that have slipped through our hands duie to his
shody business approach is nothing short of disgusting, Man U are 1 title away from equaling our tally of league titles and this may not have been so if he
had pulled his finger out and negotiated better with players agents how the hell can you go on holiday when there's business to be done.

I want players  that can win us the league, no more letting players get on a plane only to get of again at the last minute.

What worries me is while parry is still here at this club we wont be signing any "big name players" parry drags his feet when it comes down to sanctioning these transfers......he has let our club down time and again, no wonder rafa is frustrated!...until he goes we are not going to get the players that could make the difference between finishing top, or playing for 4th spot again.
