I would like to see a change in the manager's "philosophy" in the league.

The most sort after ingredient for league success is CONSISTENCY.
Only drop the odd player through bad form or injury - playing the best 11
for every league game. And DONT fill their heads with unneccesary tactics when playing the likes
of Wigan, Birmingham etc.
Same team + same basic formation + some inspiration = league consistency.

If we do that with one big signing for Kuyt's psition, I think we will see our
biggest points haul yet under Rafa.

It's a change in Rafa that Liverpool need the most.

People still think Kuyt can't play on the wing? He's been in our top 3 players since January

He's been good in that position since February, but I doubt he's
got any more in his locker to make the difference over a whole season.
Arshavin from Zenit would be better - more pace
and skill.
I have the same doubts over Babel, but think there is room for improvement.

With regards to full back - I think we could get Miguel from Valencia relatively
cheap. He's great bombing forward which would make all the difference at home in the league.

Kuyt is a square peg in a round hole.  Reina could play on the wing and do well but that doesn't mean we don't need a winger.  We've been crying out for quality wingers for years.  We need a quality right winger in that position, not a work horse.  Kuyt has no pace, trickery nor can beat a man.  We need quality up the wings from back to front.

Unfortunately though mate, Reina playing on the right wing would mean him leaving a gaping hole between the sticks. Relieving Dirk of his striker duties was in direct contrast a blessing which didn't actually bother putting his disguise on that day, just turned up as himself.

You're right though about needing at least one decent wide player. In my view we need at least one of the wide midfield players to be top drawer. Babel clearly isn't at the moment although there is the slim possibility that one day he may become so, whereas Dirk just isn't.

When we play teams like Wigan, I always imagine Rafa standing with a Power Point presentation explaining to the players which tactics and strategies to use while the players sit with blank expressions of their face.

Whereas what he should be doing is just telling them to attack them ruthlessly.

The same old problem exists, we started the season with Pennant and Riise in the wide midfield areas and we will finish the season with Kuyt and god knows who.

Stop messing about with garbage like Pennent and co and bite the bullet and buy 2 players to come into the first team, one for the left and one for the right.

I would be very happy if we kept hold of 90% of our squad and used our entire summer transfer budget on two players, someone for the right and someone for the left.

Alves, Ribery, Schweinsteiger, Quaresma.

Any of them would be welcome.

A damn fine good quality left winger.

A damn fine good quality strike partner for Torres.

A damn fine good quality replacement for JAR.

A damn fine good quality assistant for Rafa (I heard that Sammy Lee might be Rafa' assistant but not sure if this is legit- If it is then I'm happy with this).

Keep Xabi.

I have faith in Rafa, but we sit here from now until the start of next season saying "this will be our year" and :censored: all comes from it. I'm fast loosing patience with the board and the manager. I honestly can only see a way forward if DIC gain control over the club, and might have some balls to make some changes at the club. Rafa spent more than we have for a while last season and all that came from it was a striker that can win matches on his own. Well i'm sorry but you aren't going to win titles with a one, OK 4 (Reina, Carragher, Gerrard, Torres, a good base to build around), world class players.

We have done no better than the past 3 or 4 years. And when signings like Yossi Benayoun to the club, who lets be honerst isn't the most sought after, top class player out there.

Rafa needs one more year, and if the title isn't delivered, i think it may be one season too far.

So, in answer to the thread....yes some money but.....

1. Winger(s) (quality, not sure who:s)

2. Babel a chance up next to Torres, see if he has the same effect as Henry, the potential is there. If not another striker, e.g. Berbatov maybe?

3. A fit Dagger Agger, and a full back (or two)

4. A change in the managers strategy i.e. play your best eleven when possible.

Harsh but true i think.
