Kewell out this summer - No contract renewal

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby Number 9 » Sat May 10, 2008 2:02 pm

For the record i dont want him at LFC and have thought he was a waste of space a long time ago!

It sounds as if im contradicting myself i know! :D
Im glad to see the back of him but at the same time its an insult to the club that he refused less pay when he has recieved millions for nothing.
Bottom line hes off and good riddance,as for wishing him luck, none of that sh.ite from me!

i'm glad to see the back of him, which is why i'm chuffed he refused to play for lesser money. yes he's disrespected the club that has stood by him, but what would you rather have...harry kewell not playing for liverpool but showing loyalty and picking up his wages, or harry kewell showing no respect for the club but we lose the cunt. i'd rather lose somebody who clearly doesn't wish to be here.

they guy has had injuries, I suppose he is expected to play during his injuries to keep the kewell haters happy. Give him break, he signed the contract and is entitled to him salary, are we now suggesting he should have refused his wages?

anyway good luck to him wherever he goes, i am sure without his injuries he could have done great things for us

Now there's a shock. Peewee being controversial.  :sleep

Rafa shouldn't have offered him a new deal IMO, although I can understand it to a certain extent - he rates him when he's fit, and if he was on significantly reduced terms, he may be worth his place as a back up. It's simply the fact that Kewell expressed his desire to repay the fans etc. in the past on a number of occasions (he'd do everything in his power to earn a new deal etc.), and yet he decides to turn down the opportunity to stay and honour those words.

He should be thankful he got an offer FFS!

Agreed mate.

Get rid and draft in a proper Number 7 - worthy of the shirt.

You are missing the point mate!

Its the fact he turned down a chance to remain at LFC because he was offered a lower rate of pay that grinds not because he was always injured!

Add that to the fact his agent has said that Kewell has never been fitter or happier than at present(great timing just as his contratct expires) does not look good for the player!

Hes has done practically nothing for the club but been paid in full.If he had any feelings or passion for the club he would accepted a paycut and remain at least to pay back the beleif that has been put in him, which in my opinion he never deserved!

Why should LFC take a chance and offer him another contract on £60k a week, hes not worth the chance.
He'd probably play one game and limp off holding his fan.ny anyway!
The way i see it is he has been a waste of time and effort and im livid because for what we spent on the transfer and wages on a waster we could have had a decent player!

His refusal to accept another chance on lesser money or not proves he is never an LFC player and has the wrong mentality.
He is walking off and has shown no gratitude atal, many clubs would have got rid ages ago.

Any club that signs the kunt need their heads looked at!

If a player loves Liverpool he would consider a pay cut, I just wish God was still here and it was reported he would have played on a low salary just for the love of Liverpool FC. I suspect this is the only club he will stay fit for, Cardiff I gather are sticking by him and I wonder if 'he'll do a Kewell' at Ninny Park.

We simply don't need an injury prone player, end of. He was always bound to be offered a lower paid deal, only an idiot would offer the same or higher to someone who's done little but collect his wages during the last few seasons. Kewell has got a lot more out of Liverpool FC than Liverpool FC has got out of Kewell, if he truly loves this club then he would have taken the offer - assuming it wasn't ridiculously low (in relative terms)

oh wow, we lost to the aussies in a FRIENDLY yonks ago, big whoop dee doo. Aussie claim to fame in the world of football, that and bi tching about the (old) qualifying system for the World Cup because they weren't good enough to beat IRAN and URUGUAY  (both incidentally flopped at the group stages) I've yet to hear half as much about 2006 as I do the other two topics............

Irony of course is they whinged about the qualify system, whinged about the Italy game in 2006 and call US whinging poms

Can't take anyone seriously who admits that the only thing he knows is the socceroos beat England, even mancs have more football knowledge than that! aussies should stick to what they're good at sledging and whinging

If Kewell goes do we lose the contingent of aussie 'fans' ? Like the Japs that follow Jap players around etc

It is now time for a speech to offer thanks to Kewell for everything he has done for the club, length determined by how much he has done.

Cor blimey, that was quick!
