According to Manhattan's sources, Harry Kewell joined this site and was about to write a message on this thread, but he sprained his fingers while typing.

I'm not saying for one second that the five years he has spent here are nothing less than a disappointment. To say he has been completely unsuccessful is forgetting the performances he gave in the 2005-06 season when we won the FA Cup.  He looked fully fit for the latter part of that season and completely dominated the opposing full backs when he looked confident.  That was the Harry Kewell we had paid for and wanted to see every week.

To see how he has performed since then tells the story that he has either been the worst kind of lazy mercenary footballer you can get, or injuries really have killed off a once promising career of a very talented footballer.

Good luck whatever happens Harry, you had the potential to have been remembered as a Liverpool legend but it wasn't to be.

very good post mate, summed up my feelings about harry
altoghther! also good post from s@int, when he said he was one of the biggest disapointments he"s seen, mind you there
are some other players you could put into that catorgory
so harry isn"t on his own there - morientes springs to mind
to give another example. but the biggest thing for me was the way harry just didn"t bust a gut to get fit (well that"s imho)
anyway. for me there was never enough said from the player
to make me think his attitude was 100% in wanting to get fit
to fight for his place in the squad let alone the fist team.
if people on here want a masive clearout of players in the
summer, to buy quality & challange for the title next year
then harry has to be the first on the list, saving on his wage bill alone will go a great way into putting more money into
the funds we need in the transfer market surely. harry was a good player when he wanted to be, but his attitude has let
himself down big time for me. my fear is just how long will
he be injured for! the longer he"s picking up injuries aswell
as his massive pay packet, the longer we have to settle
for free transfers! (or is that me being paranoid) tbh i am
gutted the way things have turned out for him, but as i said
his attitude has left me with very little sympathy for him.

I always felt he had the heart the size of a pea.

Can't stand him

Players like traore just weren't good enough but I still respected the men who try their best and make the most of their limited talent (incl Kuyt).

Kewell is a wa*ker.

I totally agree with this. Traore had about 10% of the skill of Kewell but I still respected him a hell of a lot more.

woof woof ! wrote:Would have felt more sympathy for him if he'd shown as much desire to play for LFC as he did for Australia. Sure he did have his injuries but he never seemed slow to get on the plane for the Aussie's . Glad he's finally been told to sling his hook.

Glad to see the back of the lad, I'm sick of asking the question 'whats happening with Kewell'.

Like others said he should have been sold when Rafa joined, we could have had got a around £3m for him but once again we lost out and another play leaves for nothing

Interesting quote from rafa:

"We have tried to come to an agreement with the player and his agent, but that has not been possible," said Benitez.

"Kewell will leave the club at the end of his contract."

I bet despite everything, Kewell was asking for a ridiculous amount!

Maybe Rafa was offering him a box of Walker Crisps (Prawn Cocktail flavour) and a tray of Coke, and that's why Kewell turned it down ? Perchance it wasn't enough for Harry 'I eat Pies' Kewell.....
