No great surprise and, really, no great loss at this point.  I wouldn't have thought so even 6 months ago but such has been Kewell's decline that he is no longer missed.  With the change of formation and some slightly more consistent play from Babel and Benayoun, we've coped without him (while still needing to improve that position).  Besides, Harry looks less and less sharp every time he comes back from injury and he can't seem to stay fit long enough to get the proper sharpness back.  A great talent squandered by injury and perhaps divided loyalties between club and country.  Best of luck Harry but I don't expect we'll be seeing much more of you in top flight English football.

Good luck Kewell! Ypu'll do well in the A-league. ;)

but seriously, if Kewell wants to appear in the 2010 world cup, he should play in the A-league down under.

It's a shame really 'cos had he stayed injury-free, he could have added so, so much to LFC. I always rated him and there's no question that he has ability to burn. A bit like yer man Anderton at the time...incredible ability but just always prone to injury
I wish him well.
But I hope his agent makes Zilch, Nada, Nix out of his next move.....

sums up my feelings also

When Harry signed i thought he was going to an Anfield legend.  He was quick, he could shoot, he could cross and he could beat defenders for fun....sadly 2-3 serious injuries have robbed him of his pace and touch.  I think Rafa was still willing to give him a chance, but when Harry went off to meet up with the Australia team, after Rafa had asked him to stay here and get fit, I think that was the final straw.  The fact Kewell came back injured didn't help neither!

Good luck Harry, you had a good first season....and that was about it.  Although i think it is worth noting that Harry played a big part in our 3-1 win over olympiacos..so in part he helped us win the Champions league

I'll miss his song. I loved the Harry Kewell song. Other than that, I think it was a necessary step.

yeah it was.  If Harry had chosen club over country (liked Rafa asked him to in order to get fit) i think he might have got a new 1 year deal....sadly his trip to Hong Kong (I think) was a stupid move on his part.  He got injured again and there was no way Rafa was going to keep him after that.

Hard to have sympathy for Kewell.  Plenty talent but epitomises the lazy mercenary attitude of the modern footballer.  Mind you his goal against Spurs in January 2006 was a cracker I was fortunate to witness.  Unfortunately, it was one of the very few flashes of his Leeds form in a red shirt.

Gave up on him a few years ago then got excited when I thought he had got his act together and became injury free then he slid again.  Sadness really as he should have been a great.

Where he goes now is anybodys guess, good luck to him but apart from injuries he has to take responsibility for his predicament

I always felt he had the heart the size of a pea.

Can't stand him

Players like traore just weren't good enough but I still respected the men who try their best and make the most of their limited talent (incl Kuyt).

Kewell is a wa*ker.
