Even if all we bring in is Barry, if we play some people out of position we can look quite strong
                        Reina
Carra        Skrtel        Agger      Aurelio
Gerrard   Mascherano    Alonso     Barry
             Torres            Babel
Subs: Martin, Arbeloa, Lucas, Pennant, Yossi, Kuyt, Crouch

Joe I like the midfield

but I'll say we need to get a right back and a left back and play our defence like that

RB(Rafinha?) - Agger - Carragher - LB(Barry?)

Joeterp and Toffeehater id love to see that starting eleven or somethin like that. But we need to offload the stop gaps before anything, and there is about 7 of them. Probably wont see 7 first teamers come in, in fact i know we wont, probably 3 at the very most. We will most likely get a player or 2 for a couple of milion around 18 19, throw them in the reserves.

Reina
Rafina
Carra
Agger
Lahm
Skrtel
Arbeloa
Aurellio
Hyypia
Insua
Barry
Gerrard
Lucas
Pennant
Plessis
Masch
Bentley/Silva
Quaresma/Nasri/ Some sort of other winger
Second striker
Torres
Babel
Nemeth

Should be enough to mount a challenge surely. And realistic I think. Edit, thats not my starting eleven, the squad  :D

ideal 11 mate...does 11 hold more in mexico than england
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Martin has a better chance of backing up Reina next season, but Bouzanis might have more long term potential, still way to young. I actually think it might still be Itandje as the back up while Martin goes on loan to a Championship or League One side, anywhere where he will play often. I was going to say don't forget about Nikolay, but he is 3rd choice at FC Twente, can't imagine how he was playing in the CL. Sell Itandje summer '09, send bouzanis on loan for two years in 09/10 and 10/11, then he can back up Reina at Anfield from 2011 until Reina retires  :D

Hobbs is further along than San Jose, but neither will feature, especially with Agger back to health.

Rafinha links are dying of late, we don't have the cash for Alves

too many players in the attacking arsenal, especially if we will normally play with only one striker

Sometimes, it seems to me that Rafa is still not sure of his strongest 11. But hopefully, it will be better next season.
