I just read that Beckham is the top earner on 49m dollars :angry:

There is something wrong when a clown of a player - really average earns more than players like Messi/Henry/Kaka etc. Even at his peak he was only okay, Fergie f*cked him out the door years ago for a much better winger.

It is wrong that an over the hill average player earns more than players with great talent. Soon it will be like formula 1 when cr*p drivers that bring sponsership get a ride - remember Everton and their Chinese players?

It is the same as Kournikova being the highest earner in tennis - he is the male equivilant.

A sad day when celebrity earns more than talent :down:

Beckham was a little different than the normal footballer.

He was married to at the time the biggest Girl Band world.

He was good looking.

He loved the media attention.

He played for a big club.

He was England Captain.

HE was a media darling.

Add all of this together and you get a lot of money, infact you get a money making machine.

All true football fans will never put him in the same sentance as Messi/Henry/Kaka

you would have to have been living in a cave for the last 12 years not to be able to guess that beckham would be the highest earning footballer. and naturally it has nothing to do with his talent.

When you get signed by a club to boost shirt sales its say it all really and i rather Ana Ivanvoic to Anna K anyday (and she can play)
