CHELSEA vs LIVERPOOL: 30/04/08 7.45pm - Champions League Semi Final - 2nd Leg

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby bunglemark2 » Thu May 01, 2008 8:36 am

Hand on heart, I have to say Chelski were much the better team on the night. The players they had on the bench would make most managers drool with envy.
Don't get me wrong, I almost kicked the kids when the peno went in, and then the wife when Drogba got his second.
No apologies or excuses - most interestingly from Rafa - they were better, hungrier, classier, first to the loose ball all nite.
We've had a supreme run in recent years and it had to end some time.
We've a lot of rebuilding to do. Player for player, and I don't mean individuals like Torres, Reina....you'd have to say they were by and large more gifted than our lads. Ditto for Manure

1. Let's get this cack at boardroom level sorted;
2. let's get new blood in;
3. let somebody finally figure out what Gerrard wants to do and where he wants to be next season; 4. let someone finally figure out what the phuck is with Agger's injury;
5. let's look at the current reserves/youths and see who can step up to the plate;
6. let's take stock and see how we can achieve more than fourth next season in the Premiership

Lots of work to do, sportsfans

we need to move on, and win the fecking premiership

:bowdown Spot on.

We need to take a good hard look and sak ourselves come this time next season do we want to be out of the league again and possibly not even at this stage in Europe or do we want to challange on more than one front for a sustained amount of time.

We need a lot of heavy investment. Its good we have Torres but its no good his scoring over 30 goals a season and us not challanging for the league. We need 2 or 3 players of his quality.

The thing is we cant look at that until we know who is going to own us come the summer.

Oh feck me this is so :censored:. Rafa probably wants to get into signing players now but he cant do :censored: until this Hicks situation is sorted. How the feck did it come to this.

What makes you think Gerrard wants to leave?

The fact that Chavski have tried to sign him twice already ? The rumours that they will make a third attempt in the close season ? Gerrard himself saying that he wants to win more silverware ?

There is only one thing that Gerrard wants and that is to win the Prem........he would like to win it with Liverpool  but i am sure if he feels that is not going to happen he will look for a team that can win it, he only has a few years left at the top.

Im actually not that bitter to be honest. I guess its becasue Jose is not in charge now. Im upset dont get me wrong but we all knew it was going to be a mountain to climb if we conceded first but we wernt batterd by any means. I just hope we are made able to sign the players we want in the summer otherwise we will be saying these same things this time next season.

I hope they beat the mancs in the final though.

Gerrard said he would be dedicating his best years to us so I doubt he will leave us in his prime. If there is even a sniff of that :censored: happening again then I would say get :censored: rid of him as i dont want another summer of what happened last time. It all depends on what happens with the owners I reckon.

Unfortunately I got delayed at Heathrow last night and missed the 90 mins. From what I heard on the Radio the 90 mins was a game of 2 halves (Chelsea 1st half and us 2nd half). I have no complaints about the result purely based on what I saw (extra time) as Chelsea were better than us in that 30 mins. I thought the referee and his assistant did well with the offside and Chelsea's penalty (both correct decisions) but I cant help but think that had that Skrtel in that position instead of Sami it would have been HOOFED up the park instead of trying to control it in his own box.... Anyway...

Perhaps our penalty shout was a good one but Sami made a bit of a meal of it IMO.

In terms of where from here -

We have to get the boardroom stuff sorted and quickly or I dont doubt for one moment that Rafa and Gerrard will walk (along with a few others). This HAS to be the # 1 priority before June/July so Rafa knows where he stands and has the support/funds to strengthen the squad! [B]

I was proud of the boys last night. They never gave up, they kept fighting and we were just plain unlucky I felt. Riise's own goal, Skrtl getting injured, the offside for the first goal, Sami's penalty shout. Plenty of things that could have turned the tie.

Look on to next season now when we do the quadruple!!

I think I shocked a few people this morning, when talking about the game a few said they were glad the fat frank scored. I told them that it would of been better if he had his leg snapped in half. Can't stand the fat tw@t. Playing on all the sympathy, f*ck off.
From Shankly to Brendan we follow our team, Rome to Istanbul we've all lived the dream. Our journey is long, our goal stays the same, to keep for our children the famous red name.
