Whats the story with property in Thailand nowadays PeeWee, when I was last there farangs could only get short term "leasehold" not "freehold" . I found leasing any thing from the Thai's gave little security as the b'uggers had a knack of miraculously changing the terms/conditions of a lease when it suited them.

Many got around the no freehold for farangs problem by putting property in the name of their thai wives/girlfriends, of course the problem then is that it becomes her property and not yours. Seen many a farang lose it all this way.

i have a really nice pair of trousers which are more than comfortable. i don't expect anyone to believe me but i'll remind idiots of the fact when they need winding up, as any one in their right mind would be jealous of my ever so comfortable trousers. how anyone could not give a flying sh.it about my more than comfortable trousers is beyond me.

you can have both now, all new condos have a farang quota, landed property also has a faranq quota.the main problems are with buying land, the idea is to set up a company and buy the land through the company, however the company must be part owned by Thais (7 shareholders need to be thai i think), just make sure they dont have a vote or they can out vote you haha generally you need thais you can trust, this is where the problems are with wives families etc and where many guys have come unstuck. its a minefield still woof

A farang minefield sounds worse than a fate worse than death.
I cant see me investing im property over there until this is resolved, I shall continue with my plans for an underwater city
