Shoe on the other foot he would do exactly the same. It is not Liverpool's fault those teams are struggling down the bottom and they should try playing four games in twelve days, not that many teams have to. It's the luck of the draw, had we played Fulham twice already then would they be bitching? And were we playing Boro with a weakened side noone would give a sh 1te so why special dispensation just because of the mess some teams have gotten into.

Maybe if it were last game of the season and relegation circumstance meant we had to beat Fulham for Bolton to survive then fair enough. But even then our first XI might get beat or not care two hoots either. We didn't exactly play best XI against Reading and lost, did they complain then? And if so, do they moan when the mancs do it? Or Arsenal? Or Chelsea? Or BOLTON in Europe? But of course PILLWarnock doesn't care about that, not close enough to home and something he doesn't relate to. I've long maintained that most of the teams that get into the u wafer cup aren't strong enough to handle the extra fixtures, it strains the squad and any money made out of it needs to be invested on extra players so the squad can cope with it. If any of the wannabes did shake the top four they had better have a good squad because any progress would seriously test their resources. Of course these sides often aren't even used to (domestic) cup runs.

BUT the bottom line is we're not 100% sure of fourth and may even have one eye on third so we would very much like to win. It's not like we've tied up fourth and don't need a win, whoever goes out there today won't lie down and let Fulham win. If Fulham win it may be because we field a weakened side or it may be Fulham deserved it.

And if Bolton were chasing fourth or fifth they wouldn't complain if we weakened our side. The bitters across the park must hate the situation, they must want us to fail in Europe but know that the longer we're in Europe the more chance we'll play a weakened side domestically and therefore boost their slim hopes of finishing above us - worked in 2005 but the double edged sword means we won something they haven't ever and a trophy which they haven't won of any description in over a decade.

Others worrying about what side Liverpool put out is not the sign of a big club..................

Warnock is in the people category of "Gobby cu.nt who rates himself far higher than others do." Clinton Morrison "i'm better than Michael Owen" is in the same catergory.

Losers, the pair of them. Love to see their trophy cabinet.

Wonder if Mr Warnock will be interviewed in the "Sundays", wonder if any of the press will have the bottle to challenge him on his opinion, all of his vitriol & spite against us prior to the Match fielding a weakened side in his opinion, not sporting in his opinion, Liverpool got me relegated in his opinion, well in the immortal words of John Aldridge 'ave that, you bitter b@stard, hope Crystal Palace get promoted and we have the chance to send the c.unt down again!

Loved seeing this - go-ed Rafa, send the legals in....

Rafa considers legal action
by Ben Blackmore, 19 April 2008

Rafa Benitez will consider legal action against Neil Warnock after comments made by the Crystal Palace manager regarding Benitez’s team selection.

Warnock accused Liverpool of ‘not caring’ about the smaller clubs, after Benitez fielded a weakened side that lost to Fulham last season – a game Warnock comically blames for Sheffield United’s relegation.

Despite the fact Liverpool dominated large chunks of that game with a line-up that still included the likes of Xabi Alonso, Jose Reina, Sami Hyypia, Alvaro Arbeloa and Craig Bellamy, Warnock felt Benitez had done Fulham a favour – and he stated he would love Liverpool’s manager to ‘never win another trophy’.

Benitez did rest key men again on Saturday as Liverpool beat Fulham this time 2-0, and the Spaniard was rightly angry with Warnock’s comments.

"Somebody told me about these comments. We knew he was bad as a manager, prehistoric, but we didn't know he was a person like this,” raged Benitez.

"I will talk with my lawyers but we don't need to waste time with him.

"I picked a team I believed could win the match, We now need after this win just one more point to ensure fourth place in the league, even if Everton win all their remaining games.”

Fulham could not capitalise on a Liverpool team that lacked the likes of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard, and Hodgson began to cut a resigned figure after the game.

"I thought we matched Liverpool - one of the best sides in the country - most of the way,” said the Fulham boss.

"We paid for a couple of mistakes at the back when the ball was despatched powerfully into our net and we didn't take our own chances.

"But we gave a good account of ourselves and there are still nine points to play for, even though the fact Bolton won today and Birmingham have a game to play means our position has deteriorated.

"Of course I'm disappointed and I won't make a fool of myself by making outrageous claims - but until it is mathematically impossible for us to stay up we will fight on.”

The best bit?

"We knew he was bad as a manager, prehistoric, but we didn't know he was a person like this,” raged Benitez.

Absolute class

The 'weakened' side won, he will have to eat his words. The side that lost to Fulham last season did have a few kids in it, but wasn't that bad.

His side got relegated because they didn't get enough points, simple as. To rely on other teams to do favours is feeble and too easy to blame them for failings. Besides I thought it was Tevez's fault they got relegated.............

But why not blame the team that did ultimately cost them and that was MAN UTD. Had they draw against Wet Sham AT HOME then PILLWarnock wouldn't be off on one at us. They didn't need to win as defeat didn't cost them the title, and they didn't play Ferdinand and Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs were only on the bench. Vidic didn't even make it off the bench, so they weren't exactly fielding their strongest XI.

Man Utd XI that LOST to Wet Sham - Van Der Sar, O'Shea, Brown, Heinze, Evra, Solksjaer, Carrick, Fletcher, Richardson, Smith, Rooney.

One of the three Rs started, one came on. Not their first choice CB pairing, Vidic stayed on the bench. Only four of the XI from that game started yesterday (ie seven changes), all of Ferdinand, Vidic, Ronaldo, Scholes and Giggs started in a game they did have to win..................

Neil Warnock is a very needy person.

He always seems one bad result away from a nervous breakdown.
