Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Who said they weren't important?  Not me.  What I'm saying here however is that your view that they are more important than a very public civil war between the owners is ridiculous.  Is a manager that repeatedly selects Dirk Kuyt really a bigger concern than an owner that lies to supporters?  You're living in cloud cuckoo land if you think it is.

What I can't fathom is how you can be so glib about the threat Hicks poses to the club.  As you never fail to remind us, you're Scouse and you've been going the game since long before most on here (even if you haven't been in years...a little fact you seem to glide right over whenever you get in wind-up mode).  So, tell me, how can a such a long-standing supporter of Liverpool Football Club place so much importance on the manager's team selection at a time when the owners are engaging in an unseemly and very public power struggle that jeopardizes both the good name of the club and the very nature of its operations--including its capacity to put a winning football team on the pitch?  How can you be so dismissive of the concerns most people justifiably have about the owners and insist that Rafa's the real problem?  It just boggles the mind that you, as a lifelong supporter, can't see the bigger picture here.  Shameful. :no

from reading this thread i can see we got a whole heap of problems, we're fecked by the sounds of this.

no boardroom, no stadium, no commercial options abroad,no money for new players, no manager who wants the premiership... futures looking bleak according to this, we need a massive clearence of all boardroom staff and a team and management who want the premiership and can fund us

I said Hicks is as welcome as his mate Bush in Iraq, Get out of our club now liar, Rafa is the only person with dignity and respect through this whole saga, others should follow suitand shut up and get out.

All she read out was the bit in bold.

Pity I don't have Sky Sports News otherwise I'd have probably heard that.

Completely agree.

We as fans must stand firmly together and get this :censored: wipe out of our club.

I support Rafa but I'd never support him over what's best for the club and that is getting Hicks out. Parry and Moore should follow suit when that has been fixed.

From a very good source on another forum.

5 senior players have gone to RAFA and told him they'd be off if Hicks is to be the sole owner.
There is no-one anywhere in the world at any stage who is any bigger or any better than this football club.

Parry needs to go but not before Hicks has left. Don't let this this tool get his way with us.

I have earlier had respect for Peewee but not anymore. Anyone that wants to destroy our club can :censored: off and that is what you are doing at the moment.

getting rid of a CEO that many of us has said for years is useless is damaging or ruining the club. How?

Looking at a new manager when it appeared rafa may be off is ruining the club. How?

sorry mate i dont buy into all the anti hicks hype, i would rather see both sides and give the guy a chance then decide. its amazing when rafa messes up he gets defended

You have to admit he/they have been lying to us mate, no debt on the club etc etc.

Then he/they were all over Parry and Rafa could go to the dogs. Parry was put in charge of any and all transfers. Yet Hicks now says he has known Parry was a waste of space for the last 6 months?

We will start on the new stadium within 6 weeks - that was a long six weeks!

Hardly the way to build trust is it mate? I think when they took over this club they had probably more good will from the supporters than almost any new owners have ever had, to turn that goodwill around in such a short time has shown ineptitude of the highest order. Do you want people like that running our club?

i absolutely agree, he's asking fans to get behind him and trust that the promises he's making (huge tranfer kitty, new stadium and support of rafa) but he's just lied through his teeth and plunged the club into substantial debt. Its not the debt that particularly worries me, its the lie.

it's obviously causing real problems at the club purely because Rafa has been commenting on it, this is the type of situation you usually see managers steer clear of, but i think Rafa has seen an oppertunity to challenge the boardroom, which he is not entirely happy with, without any negative consequences. they have made a right mess of things and none of them are in a poisition to question Rafa after the strong end to the season we are having (so far).

I would absolutely hate Hicks to be our chairmen. We shouldn't sacrifice the sactity of our club for perceved stability, as in the end that :censored: would just f*ck us again

Hmm, I wouldn't believe that for one second. Rafa is boss to the players, not Hicks.

In all fairness this forum is flooded with so called "sources" and I have yet seen one to be true.

Just seen the interveiw there now, talk about cringeworthy!
Every single word that came out of his mouth is laced with what he feels us fans want to hear, with the ultimate goal to alienate Parry and Gillett. The bit at the end made me feel ill, sitting there supping out of an LFC mug and the whole family wearing LFC jerseys.
Sorry, apart from his words being false that was just one step too far.Does he really think we are so stupid to fall for that?
He has seen that the majority of us are in support of Rafa and now appears to feel the same...or so he says.
Another thing that was noticable was that he did not once strike eye contact with the camera, further adding to the fact he did not mean a word.

He says hes gonna get a group together,to buy out Gillett, but that cannot be allowed to happen. We have already had a taster with G&H.Theres no room for any more rednecks at our club.

Then he goes on about the debt on the club, the debt that he said was never gonna be.Most fans trusted him at the start,he was given a fair crack of the whip.We thought they could and would take us forward....He let the club and the fans down,he is a proven liar and should not be trusted!

This whole debacle needs sorted out soon or the club could be in very serious trouble.I cannot believe that some on here are still feeling Raffa should go.
How can anyone think that will do anything positive for LFC?It will only make things more unstable and send the whole ship into rougher waters. If Rafa leaves or is sacked does anyone think that given the uncertainty, inner turmoil and bickering that any decent manager would want to serve LFC?No one worth their salt would look twice at working surrounded by all that is going on and the media circus that follows behind slinging shi'te at every hint of an opportunity.
The fact is though, shi'te sticks and the stink hangs around long after!
People need to look at the bigger picture, wake up and smell the coffee and realise that unless something is sorted soon, the clubs future may be a very dark place.

If this runs for much longer and nothing is sorted, the world class players we need will not want to come.Maybe even the players we have may want to move on.It may not come to that but its high time something was done.
Unfortunately it seems fans opinions dont matter,he knows he is not welcome in Liverpool and he knows the vast majority of fans hate him.Its clear though that he has no intention of selling and will not allow whoever invests if or when Gillet sells to own 50% and have an even say in the club.

Worrying times indeed...........Its hard whichever way we look to see how anything can be resolved, and hurtful to think that no one with any say of the future of the club knows what to do.
Everyone seems to put their own personal greed above the longterm future of LFC.

What a fuc.king utter disgusting mess! :(

I saw the interview on SSN.  What a lovely big fireplace he has, very cosy.  And his sons/daughters watching Liverpool FC v Blackburn with him in their cinema room, all wearing Liverpool shirts.  Oh and a heard Hicks say something along the lines of "Everton won't be happy" after the final whistle (as if he mean't it)

Dear oh dear, this interview (very cringe worthy) was just a great PR stunt for Hicks and nothing else.  He doesn't care about Liverpool FC, not one iota.

every season rested players and he says he does it so they are ready for the end of the season, i just want us to go for it from the beginning. any evidence hes done that?
we all know we screw up early on and are always playing catch up, its not coincidence, its his plan to rest players, which aint worked... just my opinion of course but i think others would agree
