I would definitely rest Torres for this one, he looked absolutely knackered against Arsenal, and the last thing he needs is the heavy mob from Blackburn kicking seven colours of sh!te out of him.

Pennant    Alonso        Lucas           Babel

                 Crouch   Voronin

Or if we go 4-5-1 Gerrard instead of Voronin. BTW what the fks happened to Kewell ?

I'd probably go for something similar, a number of people will go with the "oh no not Voronin" line, but that's simply bandwagoners.

                                              torres

i would go back to 4 5 1 for this one and i would put nemeth and insua on the bench to give them some first team experience, i would rest hyypia auerillo and kuyt

prediction 3 0    torres babel gerrad :)

Masch is suspendid, would defo play Crouch Babel and benyoun, cant see him starting with both Gerrard and Torres though, although in my mind this is just as big a game as Arsenal was on Tuesday, we can't afford any slip ups. Play our strongest team possible with a really high tempo for 60mins then rest the boys for the last half hour if possible.

I was totting up our fixtures and 19th April to 30th April inclusive we have four games in 12 days and that includes both semi final legs. The two league games in that period are both away, so much for one bitter that felt us playing three in a row at home was somehow preferential treatment! But then one claimed the FA had changed the rules over including us in the Champions League when we won it but didn't finish fourth. It wasn't in the rules, it was discretionary as to who the FA gave the places to and they gave it to the bitters so he was wrong and wrong. UEFA gave us a wildcard, the same as they might with Cardiff, and that was what gave rise to the bitter bitching. Someone should write a book of bitter "facts", would be a comedy bestseller.

We may not need to rest Torres for this game, but it would be advisable to rest him at some point. Maybe he won't play the away league games in that period, but a home game is a good chance to rest key players. And he was running himself into the ground on Tuesday, a lot of the players were.

I'd go with something like this:

                 Reina
Finnan   Carra    Skrtel   Riise
            Alonso    Lucas
Yossi         Gerrard        Babel
                 Torres

i"d prefer to go with 4-4-2 start with torres & crouch up front as, this
could be a tricky game otherwise. i think blackburn will try & play
mainly on the break, as they tend to do so often.
it is vital we get an early goal in this one imho, hopefully get
the game won by half time or as soon as, then we can make
subs to keep players fresh, forced changes are one thing
but for me it is a game to potentially risky to make
wholesale changes.

I still think that we will stick with with 4231 for the rest of the season in the league.  We look much better and more organized with that formation.  Besides our main strikers Torres and Crouch play better alone.

4-4-2 and a 3-1 win. No point trying to second guess Benitez' team selection. So lets just wait and see.

My tip though, is to see Skrtel or Hyypia dropped and Arebloa coming back in at right back with Carra being shifted back into the middle.

Edit...from Hyypua to Hyypia just to please Judge  :D
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

We need to win this one to take the pressure off as we get closer to the 2 CL semis and the final.
No point resting now, we need to get points in the bag and lay up later.

First team, for a 2-0 or 2-1 niggly game because the lads are tired and have come down off their midweek high.
