Did anyone else note how many tackles he attempted, made and how often he actually won the ball? I'd almost give him MOTM for that, I'm certainly struggling to come up with someone who deserves it more.

Always being asked to play outta position and he's never complained , always running never stopping , has done well as a winger
He has been the unsung hero a few times this season

I don't like Kuyt as a forward or winger and I certainly wouldn't be comparing him to one of our greats like Kennedy but last couple of games he's doing the job which is asked of him and we're getting results, so maybe he is there just to do the donkey work. If that's the case we need our left winger (usually Babel) to produce the goods when we're going forward, because Kuyt doesn't offer a constant threat in attacking terms.

His basic skills are not good enough for any premiership side. If you're looking for a runner and someone to do the donkey work then there's nobody better than Kuyt, and right now that's his job.

Kennedy was one of the best players to wear the shirt IMHO, a fantastic footballer who was cultured with the sweetest left-foot you'd see. He scored loads of goals from midfield too.
If the comparison is based on the fact they both played up front and then played in midfield, both have two legs, are male etc etc then fair enough. Any comparisions in terms of football ability though are miles off, the two players are from a different stratosphere entirely.
I think BTW that Dirk has done an excellent job recently and I couldn't be happier for him. This comparison though is like comparing Peter Crouch to Peter Beardsley, so different in approach and ability are the two players.

Kuyt is a great crosser of the ball. How about this. Is it because the players dont make the runs necessary to turn a good cross into a great cross? The same could be given to alonso, is his passing off or is it that the players just aint giving the runs to make it a great pass?
