ARSENAL V. LIVERPOOL - Wed. April 2nd - Champions League Quarter Finals

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Lads, how can you expect Voronin to come on and mix it with the best of English football when he is so out of match practise? He was ineffective because he's rusty - out of his playing rythmn. Rafa has got to play these lads, even if its in the reserves. There was no way in a month of sundays Voronin was going to score a sneeky winner once he came on.

Lucas came on and kind of restored the control in midfield. Xabi was tired i think. Vororin showed his lack of anticipation and first touch again despite being fresh  :no
Was his Rafa's idea to sit back deep and play on the counter? Good result anyway.

How well did we do?

The face on Wenger and his assistant in the last 5 minutes showed how much they want to go to Anfield with an away goal against them - they were sh!ttng themselves.

Well done lads, half the job done.

Rafa should of kept Babel on though as Benayoun was pretty much useless.

Benayoun was much, much better. Although he's not as fast or strong, Benayoun is a much smarter, trickier player.

great result but not a great performance, we didnt keep possesion of the ball well and it gave them the chance to come at us time and time again

good games from most of the defensive players although not when in possesion and torres ran his socks off against 4 defenders, stevie did very well for the goal but otnerwise was below his usaully standard... motm has to go to kuyt he ran his socks off as per and got the crucial goal (thats 6 this year in europe, why can he do it in the prem??) plus he made a few very important tackles

the subs were right imo
1. babel was shi.t and didnt get the chance to run at the fullback enough we needed possesion and benny can give us that
2. lucas came on for alonso and gave us more energy in te middle as alonso was tiring
3. voronin for torres, needed to change torres he looked dead when he came off and it made me think will rafa rest him on the weekend??

advantage us me thinks  :buttrock

Oh no Voronin is back !!!!! :(

Babel was wasteful and to much of a lightweight to get stuck in .

Benayoun did nothing and torres looked recked .

Benayoun kept possession and didnt kill play. What did Babel do? He continually gave the ball away and/or held the ball too long and put the person receiving his passes under immediate pressure.

Thanks for the feedback gents, i'm gonna watch the match when i get home and i'll give an opinion then.

Oh and by the way i believe Andy(no bias)Gray made a tw@t of himself with his complete bias towards Arsenal in his commentary.
