Gerrard being shifted here, there and everywhere
Has he played right wing this season? or has he been played in a midfield role? be it in a 442 or 4231. Despite the usual rotation this season gerrard has stayed put.

I would he hate if he did f.uck off, but blame probably not. He has spent the best part of his career here. Being a pivitol figure, while teamates and managers have never got it right as far as the league.
Mercinary ? No dont think so, its nothing to do with money, but medals and id Gerrard wants this medal so bad, well really fairplay. Most p[eople on these boards thinks the CL is a better medal. Not from my eyes and if Gerrard left not from his either.
So, if Gerrard orchestrated a transfer to Man U or Chelsea this summer and made it clear that he had done so in order to have a chance at winning the league and thus completing his personal medal collection, you wouldn't resent him for it?
Personally, I'd see it as a fundamental betrayal of the club and I'd detest him for it. Thankfully, it would never happen.

The fact is we never do which is why we never get near to winning the league.
He's wasted at Liverpool. He really is. Thats the sad truth of the matter.

While you can say that he is wasted at Liverpool, the only honour that eludes him is the league title. If he played at Chelsea and United, the only medal that would have elluded him was the Champions League.
Gerrard has played in 2 Champions League finals. Thats pretyy huge.

What's to say that he wouldn't have been in 2 Champion's League finals if he had left for Chelsea? We beat them twice in the semi's, remember?
I don't think we would have gotten anyway close to even smelling the finals if Stevie had left.

Why would I resent a player who is desperate to pick up a league medal![]()
If its not going to be under Rafa at Liverpool which is TBH I havent really seen any sign that there is. Then obviously that player would have to look elsewhere.
I wouldnt like the fact NO, but I wouldnt resent him either if the manager and the club here and now cannot and do not have the same or show the same ambitions. Liverpool Fc would have the ambitions BTW, and hopefully Rafa too. But like I said there has been no sign ovver the course of the season that we're about to win the league anytime soon. Gerrard is at his peak now, and time isnt really on his side anymore.
If Gerrard retires without a league medal, IMO it would be a travesty to have a player of his quality never win the darn thing in a decade of trying too.

Fair enough, I suppose. My issue is that we are not a million miles away from winning the league at the moment but we could be if Gerrard bailed on the club. For one, he'd leave a massive hole in our side that would be a major challenge to fill. For two, he would significantly strengthen whichever of our competitors he signed with. Moreover, as a Scouser who's been with the team since boyhood he'd know exactly how much damage he was doing. Sure, if we were mired in mid-table with no prospects of ever challenging, I could understand it. But we're not. As frustrating as our stillborn title challenge was this season we know we're not far away (otherwise we wouldn't be all that frustrated about our stillborn challenge this season, if you get my meaning). I'd have huge resentment toward him if he decided now, after we've got back within touching distance of a title challenge, to put personal glory ahead of helping his boyhood club over the last hurdle.
That said, this is all nonsense talk because he's made no hints that he wants to leave and I don't think he is looking to either. He knows the club can still match his ambitions.

Who is to say that they would have even got to the semis had Steven been in the team.
We will never know. But at is stands, all that elludes him is the league title which is not bad because the main title that has elluded most top players is the Champions League.

Perhaps or maybe he just doesn't like foreigners and worries that "those kind just stick to their own." And why wouldn't he think that? After all, that's what he'd do if he managed Liverpool: stick all the Johnny Foreigner types like Alonso, Aurelio, Mascherano, Reina and Torres on the bench, only use their last names in the press and shift them all over the pitch when they did have to be played. And, of course, he'd eventually replace them with old-fashioned, dependable English players like Murphy, Warnock, Pennant, Carson and Doyle. That'd win us the league for sure!

I presume you are referring to Kevin Doyle, Bob?
He was five or six years behind me in school and I can assure you he's not English.
