MANCHESTER UNITED VS LIVERPOOL - Sun 23rd march  ko 13:30

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby The_Rock » Mon Mar 24, 2008 3:24 pm

Lets just move on...The game is over..done with. I know it hurts (but it hurts even less when you watch the match the next day like i did.....  :p ).  I won't be catching any matches with manure live as long as rafa is the manager...you can be sure of that.

FWIW....i do think mascherano deserve to go. I thought rafa (with all his gung ho blabbering to the press during the week), would have told the players that ref will be protecting manure players and taking a hard stand against dissent (after what happened in the chelsea vs spurs match).....Anyway....its over. Lets move on.

let us forget manchester's game and think about everton, we want to win the match with passion to reduce our anger after the last match.

3 points from everton and especially in this time will mean so much for us.

Unbelievably stupid.

One analyst (Johnny Giles) said a player should have fire in their belly but ice in their brain. Dead right! You have to control your emotions to get the best out of yourself.

I'm still furious with him (incase you can't tell).

I think the ref debate is a smokescreen, manure were a million miles better.

You know what lad you completity :censored: me off , nothing good ever to say about the team you are supposed to support LIVERPOOL but loads of praise for the mancs-- when was the last time 10 men beat united at old trafford ?? And I'm not just talking about this thread only but most threads all you do is criticise criticise and more criticising. Personally i think your probably not even a scouser because you actually seem to take pleasure from having something negative to comment on. You sound more like a manc or a yank to me (were does the BIG come from )

Add pee wee to the last line , no offence mate

Agree with u noby , he's been known to do that

If he carries on behaving like a caveman with no respect for himself or the team then I won't miss him at all. He was winging and whining to the ref all the first half, he absolutely deserved to be sent off, or subbed off if Rafa wasn't dozing! Torres was booked for showing disrespect to the ref, very clever, then brainbox Masch runs over and gets himself sent off, then doesn't obey his captain and only just obeys his manager when asked to leave the pitch, what a guy!!! and people want him to be the next captain, what a joke!!!

I am so sick and tired of the attitude on here that everyone is against us, it's pathetic. We were lucky not to have Carra sent off right at the start of the game and it's only because Rooney is an honest and strong player that we didn't, don't worry I still

Rooney is not an honest and strong player , the only reason eh stayed up is because he had the confidence to score and he needs the goals , he's on 8 for the season and if he had dropped and it was a pen , ronaldo would have taken it and not him , yes credit to him , he stayed on his feet when most would have gone down , maybe even torres in his position but he did it for his own motive

People complaining abt kuyt's finishing take one hard long good look at the amount of chances rooney had , kuyt would have buried at least 1 of those , yes people can argue that rooney creates more or gives more to the team , i think since kuyt has been moved to the right , he has given more this season , he has created goals and effectively stopped attacks down his side and has done it well , he was the only one who can walk away with his head held high yesterday as he was the only one who played the match for the love and passion for the game .
Well done lad .

So let me get this straight , mascherano can't ask the ref , what's this when he booked torres? and it was our freekick? Where was th protection there that ferguson wanted for skillfull players with flair like ronaldo, where was it for torres? The lad left the game with injuries and possibly because of that, i'm sorry the officials deserve no respect what so ever . SO basically for asking a question mascherano for that he gets sent off , well sorry then i think everyweek the premier league should have players off if its like this , countless like rooney , ronaldo , terry , rio just a fewto mention , theymouth of to the refree and get away with it why? Becasue they have a different set of rules , yes mascherano was wrong but he wanted to know why the ref was showing double standards and no consistency what so ever , if u are going to book someone for their first tackle and he knows its late and the studs were down , then he should have booked scholes for deliberately blocking babel , when babel had beaten him and he obstrcuted him . Face it , the ref is a cu.nt and he ate right outta ferguson's hand .

well done thanks for that witty, clever and original addition to this thread, I have never heard anyone call someone who disagrees with them on this forum a manc supporter before, what an insight!! I guess you are the only true fan then? God help us all

Nanny as usual you take everything personally, you really don't like me, but guess what I actually think you are ok although I disagree with you, I guess that comes down to being grown up and being able to discuss matters in a sensible way.
In what way was I having a go at Torres, he made a hand signal at the Ref which is why he got a yellow card, I have no problem with that. Rafa should have subbed Mascha as he was clearly in a :censored: off mood from the first whistle.

I think Mascha is a fantastic player but I'm sure that he is furious with himself today for his lack of control and also for the fact that none of his team mates stopped him getting that second yellow, apart from Alonso's very half hearted effort.

The bottom line is that the lads need to refocus for the game against the bitters, if we can win that one then we should be nicely set up for the Arsenal games.

I think whats bugging people most isnt that we lost, but the way we lost.
Folks are focusing on the Mascher incident however it was more the general collapse of the side that really gets me.  And if was darn difficult to type the words `general collapse´.

Gerrard and Alonso surrendered the middle of the park to Scholes and Anderson, there were more holes in the defence than a Swiss cheese and against first class opponents, Torres alone upfront wasnt going to bring a goal.

I´m more upset about losing this game than the CL final in Athens.

I'm sorry but are you really try to say that Kuyt gives more to Liverpool that Ronaldo does to Man Utd, are you high or something???
That has to be the most blinkered thing I have ever read, I have no idea what you see in Kuyt but as mentioned before we will have to agree to disagree about him.

In what was was the ref biased, I didn't notice that at all and I didn't notice any Man Utd players winging and whining to Bennett throughout the whole of the first half like Masha did.

The one thing I do agree with is that this should not be a one-off sending off. ref's need to be much firmer with players, I think its a bloody disgrace when I see players talking back to the ref, you don't get that in any other sport that I know of and it has to stop. It's sending a terrible message to children to see their heroes act is such a disrespectful way! :veryangry

I wanna see that run through our team. His obvious passion for that game was evident.

Every player gets sent off and im sure he is the most gutted about what happened.

Pointless and I think stupid to moan about what happened or talk :censored: about him, he gives a :censored: and thats all I care about.

Yeah, his reaction spoke for a few things. His first reaction after seeing the yellow said that he was shocked and astonished. He almost couldn't believe it and had a smirk on his face as if to say "What the f*ck! Is this a joke? Ha ha, very funny!" And after realizing his injustice, his reaction was 'Hold on a sec, I'm not going to stand for this bollox.'

I'm more surprised that Steve Me and the rest didn't back him up. At the end of the day, that ref is a c*nt, plain and simple. Why should anyone show respect to a c*nt.

Yepp I  agree about that, it was very depressing to watch because it highlighted just how far behind the top three we really are.

I take it you are either still at school or unemployed then, becuase evry fecking day you have to show respect to pr1cks and c&nts, be they bosses, police, traffic wardens etc etc, that is life! What is selfish and idiotic is behaving like Masha did and fecking things up for your team, and how you guys can applaud someone getting sent off like that is beyond me!! Would you have liked to see a mass brawl and the whole team get thrown out of the prem or something??

some people on here must be doing the sarcasm thing where it doesnt work as well ni written form as this cannot be serious stuff. standing up for masher? And how come some people are purely laying the blame for the defeat entirely at kuyts feet?

some of you people really are funny
