Has Reina had a few drinks before this match?  Even his 1st kickout was awful!!

Absolutely awful perfomance this lunchtime.

Mascherano as much as I love the lad he should be fined for his behaviour today, it was foolish and totally unacceptable at best. Although United probably wouldn't have won at such a canter as they did, we still wouldn't have got anything out that match with 11 players on the field the way we were playing.

Reina gift wrapped them there first two goals. The back line was awful and all over the place, even Carragher dropped so far off his usual standards it was unbelievable.

Dirk Kuyt may aswell have not been on the pitch. I've always admired his honesty and effort but what a poor player to have in your starting 11 for a club with title amitions every season. He was dreadful.

We needed Peter Crouch on in the second half just to give us a target and relieve a bit of pressure off Fernando Torres.

So Benitez brings on Yossi Benayoun who touched the ball twice and gave it away twice.

Pathetic.

breaking news... Bennett has just been sacked for the next year as referee for a tunnel fracas!!!!!

Carlsberg dont make posts, but if they did they'd probably be the best posts in the world

Most disappoinitng thing for me was we never looked up for the fight... and never have under Rafa.

Not before the goal, not after it and only for 5 minutes in the second half when down to 10 men did we show any positives in our play.

I have said it before and say it again:-

Rafa has not yet got the team fighting (believing) against the other bIG 3 consistently.

In recent history against the Mancs we only ever really looked up for it in the FA cup. The rest were bore draws waiting to happen with the Mancs fluking late goals with alarming regularity.

If Rafa doesn't improve this mentality and forge us into winners in our minds BEFORE we step on the pitch next season he can go at the end of 08/09 ...

I am as depressed as I was after Arsenal came and humiliated us at Anfield earlier this season, not in score line but in performance. We are so far behind the top three in terms of passion and skill that it is frightening. Where the hell was Captain marvellous when Mascha was getting sent off or Alonso for that matter, they should have stepped in and stopped him, or even better Rafa should have subbed him earlier, it wasn't just two incidents he was moaning to Bennet The whole bloody half the stupid Argie pr1ck!!
Something needs to change at the club because it is still not right, sure we can now beat sh1t teams which is nice but up against the big boys we are shown up as mere pretenders, with a lack of creativeness and heart.

I'm disappointed in Rafa again because he seems completely unable to get the lads fired up for these big league games, he hasn't won a single match against the top three ever!!!

Plus seriously why does he play the worst player in the premiership Kuyt week in week out, why not play Pennant or Benayoun?? Every time Kuyt gets the ball  you just know nothing will happen, it is such a waste plus he is never in the right position!!  :veryangry  :veryangry

rIPPED FROM LIVERPOOL KOP.COM

Where was Steven Gerrard, Liverpool's so-called Captain?

Nowhere to be seen.

There is one positive thing that has come from this incident: Mascherano showed all the qualities necessary of a true captain and this bodes well for the future. As of now, he is officially my choice for next captain of Liverpool FC

Those blaming our captain should be shot at point blank range.

He wasn't at his best today, that goes without saying, but not one player in the team today can put there hand on there heart and say that they played well.

Stevie looked lost in that position today. He's done well in it lately simply because we've been coming up against teams with far less ability and tactical nouse than Manchester United and today he would of been much better off back in a midfield 4 with Crouch and Torres up top.

i hope that certain posters will feel sufficiently embarrassed by their comments if they reread them tomorrow. we are not useless, the players did turn up, reina is not a useless keeper, gerrard did show up (he was actually handled very well by them), etc etc etc.

we got beaten by a team that played better than we did and we're let down by a moment of madness from one of our better players. we've lost before and we have also beaten some very very good teams on their own grounds.

it hurts like hell to lose to the mancs again - especially so as this time we didn't outplay them only to lose to a flukey goal from john o'shea. we have to accept that we still have to improve a lot against the top teams if we are going to have a proper shot at the league title again, but that doesn't mean that the current collection of players or the manager are a useless bunch of morons as many are suggesting.
