The only real problem is that refs aint consistent enough with handing out yellows for whining players. But masch should know better, and Gerrard should have told him to shut the :censored: up and just play.

Reina was at fault for the the first 2 and Masch should know better than to go after the ref once your already on a yellow. Rafa must hve been fuming for him to actually restrain Masch himself.

Anyway not that it mattered as we were f.ucking :censored:. Gerrard went awol as did Carra. Torres was the only one who played well but 1 player cant make a difference against a team like Man Utd. 7 wins in a row whoopdifuc.kingdooda, those were :censored: teams anyway we should have beat them.

I hope you all saw today the gaping difference between us and them. They have class and quality in all areas of the game where as we probabaly have only 2 players who could get into their team. Until we get some serious money to make this team better we will just have to be content with singing "we won it 5 times".

F.cuking disgrace thats all I can say.

i think more then 2 of our players could get into their team mate, but i have to agree overall they are a better side

Ok maybe 3 - Gerrard, Torres and Reina. Everyone else is 2nd choice. Where as probabaly every Utd player could walk into our side.

We are still just a 4th place team and its a joke.

Without Reina, it would have been 5-0 easily...

Most of his "great saves" today were due to the ball hitting him. Ok my assessment may be wrong, so prove let's hope he proves me wrong when we meet up against Arsenal and Chelsea.

The ball hitting was due to his decision making as to when he needed to come off his line.

No worries mate, let him prove me wrong. The damage was already done with his poor aerial judgment, so no matter how many "great saves" he made is already irrelevant. I really hope he proves me wrong.

I think some of our players just go missing sometimes. Maybe it's even down to the manager and the players we have had available. Sometimes it's just sheer luck. We've outplayed the Mancs a dozen times since Rafa has been here, but still they've come away with a lucky break. Same can be said against Chelsea. I just think today were were done by a poor referee decision and by a team who are obviously on fire. Sometimes you just have to hold your hand up and say well done.

It's difficult to put a finger on it. But to say we aren't good enough would be just a lie.

ill hold my hands up when we get beaten fair and square but i despair at our passing and movement .

PS - Reina saved us from even more of a thumping ( real shame about the error(s)- Still think hes great and will only get better

its annoying really. wtf are the scouts doing.

Rafa doesn';t seem to like paceand power. he seems to go for technical ability more.

i think thats :censored: really. we're so slow and the attackers are so fast. look at arsenal's defence. i bet toure could do a better job as a striker then anyone else in liverpool bar torres.

they are all lightning fast and able to catch up with the speedy wingers. but liverpool? riise? arbeloa? finnan? hyypia?

Mate if you thought for 1 minute this season that we had a chance of winning the title then you must have really been dreaming. We are miles away and the truth is by the time we are ready Gerrard will have probably left or will be too old. (or both)

The bottom line is that we just aren't good enough in the league.

Our players never seem to raise their game for these big league fixtures, and in all fairness we can turn all the 0-0s against lower table sides into wins all we want - we won't win the league until we re-learn how to boss the Arsenals, Man Us and Chelseas.

That's not really an observation based on today though - today a moment of madness from Mascherano killed the game. He was on a yellow and should have been keeping his head down. Instead, he went after the ref and there's just no excuse for that. As soon as Torres started mouthing I was screaming at him to shut up, and for us to come out of that situation with a yellow and a red is just self-implosion of the highest order.

Yes, the ref was rubbish. Sometimes in this game you have to bolt your head on straight and play on regardless though, and the last thing you do when the ref is giving out cards cheaply is to give him a reason to give you one for free.

The sad thing for me is threefold - we've thrown away a great chance to put on a choice performance at Old Trafford, we've shirked the chance to make an assault on the top 3, but worst of all, we've almost certainly gifted the title to the Mancs.

Really, really disappointing day. My chocolate eggs are going to taste like sh*t now.  :(

Ill tell you another thing. We may have got past Inter but lets not kid ourselves we were gifted by the sendings for against Inter. Against Arsenal I predict a thrashing. (for us)

I have just had my first look at the sending off, Sorry i have got to say that the Reff was right, Masch was silly, after the week we have just had in football any player talking to a ref like that is just asking to get sent off.

With a bit of luck talking to a ref like that will be gut out of the game.

All keepers make mistakes but when they make mistakes during big matches, u gotto question their mental strength. I'm still a fan of Reina but I still remember his howlers against Everton and West Ham (FA Cup final) - bad memories. Good keepers dun make that kind of mistakes often and i hope those are just bad memories, past memories, never to happen again. Sorry, my mind is a bit unstable now after all the swearing in front of the telly.  :D

Reina's timing of coming out to punch the ball has always been his major weakness
