Eurosport - Thu, 20 Mar 09:40:00 2008

Rio Ferdinand could miss Manchester United's clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The England defender has missed the Premier League leaders' last two fixtures, with Gerard Pique standing in at the heart of the United backline alongside Nemanja Vidic for the 2-0 defeat of Bolton on Wednesday night.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Rio Ferdinand is doubtful for Sunday with a back problem.

"I had to find out about Gerard Pique. We've got great confidence in the lad and he's come through very well.

"They are all top players so you have to put your faith and trust in them."

United's win over Bolton put them three points clear at the top of the table with eight games remaining.

he'll play, believe me, just in the same way his nine month drug ban conveniently ended a day before they played us in the past.

HOW TRUE!

I'm sure Rooney too was injured and had a bit of a layoff prior to them playing us at Anfield In December also, but Surprise Surprise he started also against us!

I was ultra confident against this scum in December, for some reason I have a "you know whats gonna happen" feeling about this one too.

Im sure we will be determined and and play well, but we need that bit of cutting edge that we have shown recently up front.

Some good shots on target to say the least please! just settle and play our game.

I know we wont win the league, but our objective is to stop the scum from winning it too. Thats means 3 points for us!

We are due a win agains this sh*t.

Cue..............Torres.

Funny this, the mancs are determined to beat us!

just been browsing a few manc forums (annonimously) to get some inside info and they are bricking it for sure!

one poster:

"We HAVE to win it's that simple !!

If the plastic scouser at work tells me one more time how many new Ar*ses Babel will tear in whoever is playing right back or how Torres will destroy the same defence that kept him quiet as a mouse at anfield I'll do time.
"

class!

Theres also a lot of talk by fergie that ferdinand is likley to be out for Sunday!

That is pure cr*p, and a deliberate attemp to throw Benitez's approach to the game.

Fergie is a bottler, and you know he talks trash. mark my words, if we do happen to win Sunday, fergie wont blame us, he'll blame the Ref , the FA, the head of Referee's and probably the IRA, mafia, and Al Quaida too for his team not doing the Biz.

Well Ronaldo was "on fire" again on Wednesday, sadly not literally. There's always the allegation players like him "go missing" in big games, with some justification given the big name opponents tend to try and negate rival big name players.

He does more than score, he spends a lot of time winning free-kicks and acting like a ponce. So does he score only against weaker sides?

Ronaldo Premiership goals breakdown

Goals : 24
Games : 26

(Ronaldo has also scored 9 goals in 11 other games)

vs top four : 1 goal
vs bottom four : 7 goals

vs top half : 8 goals
vs bottom half : 16 goals

If Torres were taking our penalties and scored all that Gerrard has then he'd have three more Premiership goals. Considering the Premiership is hyped up as one of the best league, if not THE best, and yet Ronaldo is scoring freely against sides outside the top four

What we need to do is concentrate for the full 95-96 minutes :D and not switch off at a last minute set piece when one of their deffenders will pop up up to score like the stuffy tw@ts always seem to do.

Get a goal and then carry on attacking and not be in awe of the fact we are winning and sit back and let them come at us, we are a very good deffensive unit but they seem to have a knack of clawing their way back into these games. I have lost count of the number of times we have battered them only to switch off concede right at the end.

I'm going for a hard fought 2-0 win to us  :buttrock

my point proven........he's an overrated, arrogant, portugese :censored:.

I'm still going for 2-1 and at least one player sent off.
