I think that we need to move ourselves away from the type of thinking that believes that a draw is good enough. I think that we need to realize that a draw is never "good enough" because then we just sell ourselves short and set ourselves up for failure. We need to always go for the win and never settle for anything less than a win. And even with this type of thinking we will still draw and lose sometimes however we will know that we always went for the win.

This weekend, a draw is not good enough. We need to go at them like we do whenever we play any other big European club and we need to go at them for the win.

Couldn't have said it better myself.  We need to change our mentality if we ever want to win the league.

FFS, don't be such a plank.  A draw's a good result given that Chelsea were a few minutes short of taking all 3 points.  And quit being so cute with this 'other teams bailing us out' nonsense.  You don't think Arsenal and the Mancs were applauding the Spurs result too?  Of course they were because even teams at the top of the table rely on other results.  You sure weren't poo-pooing all the points Arsenal have dropped of late when you suggested in the other thread we still have a chance to win the title.  You don't half talk out of both sides of your mouth. :no

we're still looking for other sides to bail us out

i bet chelsea are hoping manure bail them out on sunday

Well, our mentality, as in the forums, currently is a draw is fine but a win would be nice.  (for some, not all.)

However, what we say here doesn't speak for the team, and I think from all the talk and news that we are going for the win this time.

As long as the top 3 keep dropping points,... be it 1 or 3, I'm happy...

Puts 'em under pressure when they meets us... (not chelsea obviously)....

Bring on the mancs..... it's about time we won one against 'em.

Rio doubt for Liverpool clash

Eurosport - Thu, 20 Mar 09:40:00 2008

Rio Ferdinand could miss Manchester United's clash with Liverpool at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The England defender has missed the Premier League leaders' last two fixtures, with Gerard Pique standing in at the heart of the United backline alongside Nemanja Vidic for the 2-0 defeat of Bolton on Wednesday night.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson said: "Rio Ferdinand is doubtful for Sunday with a back problem.

"I had to find out about Gerard Pique. We've got great confidence in the lad and he's come through very well.

"They are all top players so you have to put your faith and trust in them."

United's win over Bolton put them three points clear at the top of the table with eight games remaining.

he'll play, believe me, just in the same way his nine month drug ban conveniently ended a day before they played us in the past.
