Anyone watch Californication or Weeds? top class showtime shows (with Dexter being number 1 for me). Showtime is far and away the best channel for TV right now especially because The Wire just aired its final espisode ever :(  :(  :( I love that show so much. And Sopranos is done, but I never really got into that and so is Deadwood which I liked but I don;t think was very popular.

Anybody see Tudors? I think its alright but I can't wait to see some beheadings, show moves kinda slow.

Also suggest people avoid Brotherhood, its cr@p.

Deadwood was awesome show , that ended too quick.
So what did you think of Sopranos ending Joe

I'm just watching the first series of that now and DVD and think it's absolutely fantastic.  A crime-solving serial killer sounded corny when I first heard about it but the story is riveting and the execution (no pun intended :D ) is excellent.  The opening credits are genuis too, showing the guy's morning routine.  It's all mundane stuff but the camera work and sound make it so cringingly violent...very effective! :nod

So its worth a look Bob

I thought the idea was corny but ive heard good things about it in several quarters now

I'd definitely give it a go, mate.  It's not for the especially squeamish mind but I don't find it that gory.  The more disturbing part is when you find yourself rooting for the serial killer! :D

Anyone watch pushing daieis at the weekend? its like gondry directing amelie, absoltuely brilliantly surreal, plus anna friel is in it which is always a bonus. great show. for anyone that hasnt seen it:

guy finds out if he touches someone dead he can bring them back to life ut he must touchthem agani within 60 seconds to kill them again or someone close proximity wise will die. after that if he touches the person he brought back to life they will die. its better explained if you watch it :D

As if three Terminator films wasn't overdoing it they make a series about it. What they could have done is make a film based in the future when the machines were on the point of wiping out humanity, but then why do something that clever and complex when you can base it on the current day and save a bundle on special effects etc. I've not been tempted once to watch it, the trailers put me right off.

And it's just exploiting the popularity of Terminator, they run the risk of overkill just like when they ressurected BSG and other old series.

Love it when people criticize stuff they haven't even seen. Maybe you should change your name to mary whitehouse ?

For the record, the "Sarah Conner Chronicles" cover a period that was never explored in the terminator films . Sure it's exploitation of the success of the films but if Sci Fi action is your thing and you enjoyed the terminator movies this is certainly a well produced, acted and crafted show that it definitely worth watching.

If you're into the films and have just decided to skip this show because of a hunch that it's exploiting the series, then you are missing out on a important development in the story. Terminator 3 was very disappointing, but it plugged a few holes in the story and sets up the forthcoming trilogy of films based on the war itself. The  TV series does the same job, telling the story of what went on between the second and 3rd film. It actually goes further back as well, telling the story of the Reese brothers and how it was possible for one of them to travel back in time for the first film, and how Skynet came to be. It's also worth watching for Summer Glau, who is the female terminator sent back to protect John. It's certainly a lot more refreshing than an Arnie type.
