Quarter final and semi final - Draw

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Don't care who we get really, would like to give Fenerbache a miss though...

What I DO want to see though is Man Utd & Chelsea drawing "big" clubs. It'll be sod's law Man Utd get Schalke or someone. I wouldn't mind playing Man Utd at the quarters I must say! They think it's there year and they'd be so cocky, i'd love to see their faces when we beat them. :D

I'm not bothered who we meet over a two legged tie, we are exceptional in that scenario, but, if we got to there, do not want the Mancs in the Final, if it went pear shaped i'd hear about it until my last breath.

John Aldridge has revealed he's desperate for Liverpool to be drawn against Man United in the quarter-finals of the Champions League on Friday.
The striking legend believes the Reds have enough European pedigree to eliminate Fergie's men and avenge some of their Premier League pain.

Aldo told Liverpoolfc.tv: "I'd like to see us paired with Man Utd – I'd love us to play them. Schalke or Fenerbache would be the next best thing.

"I am confident we could beat United. It would give us a great opportunity to put things right after the frustration we've had to put up with in the league these last few years.

"If we don't get them in the quarter-finals then I've got a feeling we might further down the line."

Aldo, who scored 63 goals in 104 Liverpool outings, also believes one of the four English sides left in the competition will prevail in Moscow on May 21.

He said: "I do believe an English side will win it, and I think the only main threat to that would be Barcelona.

"There's no reason why Liverpool can't do it and I think Tuesday night made a statement. You ask Fergie, Chelsea or Barcelona who they want in the next round and believe you me it won't be Liverpool.

"They will want to avoid us because they know what we've done over the last few years."

I Love the sneaky little dig, the way he puts Man U ahead of  the two other weaker teams left in it

John Aldridge is right, I'd want us to play them too, we can beat anyone over two legs and it would be really sweet to knock them out.  But I really hope we don't get Chelsea, because I'm really sick of them.

You've got to play the best teams to win the biggest trophies. It'd be better to get rid of one of the stronger sides and hope Shalke and Fenebache draw one another and we get them in the semis to make the final a much easier task. Saying that, I don't give a toss who we get in the quaters, semis or final, we're Liverpool Football Club and everybody is fearing us.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

I''d like to avoid the english sides. i definitely wouldn't be afraid of barca. watching them recently they look poor particularly without messi and with our midfield if we took out the threat of iniesta and xavi and didn't let there attacking see much of the ball i could see us beating them.
Steve Gerrard Gerrard,
He'll pass the ball 40 yards,
He's quick and he's f*cking hard,
Steve Gerrard Gerrard.

How many Premiership teams have we drawn in cup competitions and beaten under Rafa? With the exception of Arsenal and Chelsea (with the help of a Gerrard O.G no less) Rafa has proven that it really doesn't matter if they are domestic competition or not. Stop with the cheap shots. I had the same argument from a Manc supporter. Funnily enough, I brought these same facts up and the argument ended.

If we draw United, we'll beat them. Home and away. Chelsea? We'll do them too. Arsenal? Don't make me laugh. How many times have we bossed these teams in the league only for them to scrape a lucky win against us? We never had the edge. We have an edge now. His name is Fernando Torres.

its a joke hence the  :D  at the end.

but since you raised the issue about how many times we have bossed these teams, then i will raise the issue how many times have we beat these teams,

we get nothing for bossing teams and not winning mate

You can stream it right off of UEFA's own site mate. I usually do that come CL draw time. It's possible to choose between both audio and video aswell.
