I'd go further than that Ace. Over the last couple of games I've noticed how time after time the fella just give's up when chasing a ball that looks as though it's going out of play , Kuyt may lack Babels skills but he at least would chase the ball into row z , Babel on the other hand does a bit of a sprint and, with the ball still in play, just gives it up. Kuyt may have been poor last night but Babel was a complete waste of space. For sometime now I've been thinking the fella's got no bottle.

Overall a thoroughly professional team performance , marred only by the sub par performances of Babel and Kuyt. Once again our lack of real quality in the wide positions was glaringly obvious.

I dont usually go in for the slatin players thingy but with this one i have noticed it for a while now Babel needs to get a bit of bottle he needs to start being nasty if i was Raffa id stick him in the ressies for a while to toughen him up i hate to see players bottle out of tackles and lately hes been doin his fair share.

He also needs to learn how to track back and help the left back out .Last night Kuyt worked that position brilliant and yes his crossing and final ball was poor but Carra could just drop in the middle because he knew there was cover there for him, if he went inside that what Babel needs to learn

No more bluenose :censored: or cockney :censored: in the UEFA. Now I'm hoping Bolton take a pasting tomorrow and they're out and all.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

as bad as things got for us this season we're still ahead of them ( all be it by goal difference) we're in the quarter finals of a real european competition and in the past decade we've acheived stuff theyve only had a wet dream about. yet is it enough for this great club? not a bit of it. we want more and will acheive more. as for them i suppose being level with us is as good as it gets. wouldnt you be gutted being born in the same city as the most successful team around at home and in europe and you end up following that crowd. :no
shamrock rovers and liverpool are not a matter of life and death to me. they are much more important than that.

Is Manhattan the only one getting sick and tired of British TV commentators using "The Yak" to describe Yakubu?

er yeah right,

it will be exactly the same next season in the league, just as it has been for the last 4 seasons. rafa places his priorities in the CL and always will do, explain to me how we can beat inter and can't beat barnsley, west ham, reading etc etc etc

because he has no interest in english football, he has no clue about english football after nearly 4 years here.

sadly if we win the CL again this year this will buy him a stay of execution and we will meander on aimlessly again the league next season

For the record, this post is why I was having a pop at Peewee.  Sure, he had a dig at Kuyt earlier in the thread but that's to be expected these days.  It's this nonsense that Rafa doesn't care about the league that I think is absolutely not on.  First of all, it's completely and utterly untrue (and he knows it).  Second, it's got sweet FA to do with this match.  So, those that worry that poor Peewee is being hard done by, don't fall for his sanctimonious act...he started us on this "tangent" and he's rightly been called on it.  My last word on the matter...

been to a game yet bob or still preaching without knowledge      :D

you football knowledge is left lagging mate while you still fail to see the obvious, along with many others.

please tell me if the league is important to rafa why does he weaken his teams before champions league games? Any answer other than "because he places more importance on Europe" will just be laughed at for the rose tinted rafa can do no wrong comment it actually is.

oh sorry that was you last comment on the matter    :no

I believe that the league is just as important for Rafa as the CL, but we desperately need the CL money right now and that is why he rests players for it.  CL also attracts quality players like Torres, and it gives us a big fan base which is very important for the club's future.  I bet since the 2005 CL our fan base probably doubled around the world.  The league will come but we need more top quality players and better support from the owners in order to win it.
