Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I agree that this game should be a game that Liverpool should be able to handle, especially because they are at home. However, we cannot take this game too lightly. We have to remember that their losing streak is going to come to a hault soon and they will win - it is just a matter of time. Something will have to give for them and their current form will change and they will begin to play better, I believe. I just hope that this game on Saturday is not the game for them to do this.

I reckon we'll win 3-1
Torres 1 or 2 and who knows maybe JC 1
Michael Owen back at Anfield will have a decent game and pick up a goal.

it would be just typical that Keegan gets his first win in charge , against us , at anfield. I hope not but if he's gonna do it - it'll be saturday.

That is what I am worried about because they are going to have to get their first win sooner or later. Hopefully it is later rather than sooner ;)

this game seems impossible to pick, and yes I mean even more impossible than usual. You KNOW that rafa is going to have an eye on Tuesday, and he is going to take into the fact that we have played Wednesday and Sunday of this week. Can't see Babel starting this one, he seems to have the worst endurance problems of the lot, and considering his form, Rafa is going to want him available in Italy.  Torres is another interesting question, sure he is capable of playing in both games, but then surely Rafa would want to rest him against Reading next weekend, so I wouldn't consider resting Torres at the weekend sacrificing prem games for CL, for me its a choice between two premier league games. For me, 4-2-3-1 doesn;t work for us w/o Torres so here is my team for the weekend:
                                Reina
  Arbeloa          Skrtel           Hyypia      Insua
  Pennant         Gerrard         Lucas         Kewell
                               Yossi
                               Crouch
Subs: Martin, Agger, Alonso, Babel, Nemeth (thought about starting him)

They are on a pretty big Losing/Draw streak, should be easy pickings.

I think 3-0 to Liverpool, not sure who is going to score.  I have a feeling some players who don't score often might get one in this game.  Torres is scoring though, hot right now.

Thats what they said about Derby and we barley got a point their. However if we approach the game properly then we will beat them no problem.

even though we have Inter game looming, we've gotta keep going in the league as well... everton has same no. of points as us... I expect a full strength squad from rafa and then rest key players when we're ahead...

Finnan    Skrtle       Agger        Abeloa

Pennant   Alonso     Lucas      Kewell
                         Benayoun

Maybe he won't be quite as radical as I think, but I expect plenty of changes.

2 -0

If he starts with that line up and we don't win then Rafa should be shot.

These 3 points are vital.

Why change it now, he's stuck with pretty much the same team for a while now, keep the core the same.

                 Reina
Arbeloa    Skrtel   Carra   Aurelio
           Masch   Alonso
                Gerrard
Kuyt                             Babel
                Torres

Can't see why fielding this team we can't knock 4 past them with keeping it tight at the back, if Masch isn't fit then Lucas will come in and maybe Hyypia at the back.

Kill the game early and give Gerrard, Torres and Babel a rest before we go and play Inter off the park too!!!

This should be an easy 3 points, Newcastle are a bigger joke than us at the moment, (in terms of the DIC saga), what a shrewd move from Shearer not joining that rabble of sh1t!

I have an uneasy feeling about this match. Logically we should walk it and should be another 4-0 drubbing but as I have said countless of times before, "logic", "Rafa Benitez team selection" and "Liverpool" are not three words you see in a single sentence often unless its prefixed by the word "no". :D

The headline writer in my head keeps thinking of Keegan and Owen coming back to Anfield.....................:D
