My mate at work reckons Liverpool played in the Intertoto Cup during Houllier's time. Around the turn of the century. I've told him he's talking boll.ox but can't find the stats to prove him wrong. We've got a cup of tea and a cream egg on this and i'm getting thirsty! Help!

its probably a spelling mistake such as "inter toto anfield for the first leg"

i thought it was funny anyway :angry:

Yeah, he's having doubts now! Bit difficult to prove something hasn't happened though. He reckons he's off to find proof now! Cream Egg coming up

There was a year we failed to qualify for Europe and turned down the chance to enter the Intertoto. Maybe that's what's confusing him.

He could be thinking of 2005/06 when we had to play all the qualifying rounds for the Champions League (and thus started the season early).
