Yet you get a lot of posters being abused, called Wum's etc for writing over the top negative posts, how many get the same reaction for writing over the top red tinted glasses posts?......... None

If your house burns down, all your family are killed but the cat survives, which would you rather have?

1/ GREAT NEWS WE SAVED YOUR CAT!

2/ Sorry to inform you but your family has died in a house fire, only the cat managed to escape.

Because most of the negative posts offer nothing except insults towards the team, manager, chairmen. Its never a collective thing its always individuals. The loss against barnsley, its rafas fault, or kuyts. Never that everyone got it wrong. The manager chose the wrong tactics, the players failed to perform. And thats what really annoys me. I accept that rafa isnt perfect but I also acknowledge that the players are paid to do a job. If our performance is to be knocked then I would like to see more people seeing the bigger picture rather than putting it down to just one person.

but alternatively you get the posters blaming it on the players as if Rafa had nothing to do with the game , yet when we win a game its all down to Rafa and his tactics.

Others think when we win its all down to the players, but every defeat is because of Rafa and his rotation/formation/tactics.

The problem is the more one side attacks unreasonably, the more the other defends unreasonably, and when the defence or attack begins to flag the insults begin.

Plenty actually, hence the term 'rose tinted glasses'. I could make a list of people who often aim digs at this supposed brigade.

Those OTT negative posters who are castigated, are generally done so legitimately, for comments such as 'Rafa's a clown', 'Rafa's an idiot', 'Rafa just f*ck off...you greedy Spanish c*nt' etc.. and so on. Sometimes it's unfair and unwarranted and equally OTT, but that's comparitively rare.

As Kharhaz said, what would you rather, someone disrespecting their manager (examples above) and their team, or supporters who are instinctively supportive of their club, their team, their manager etc, most of whom do actually acknowledge what they consider to be faults with the team and/or manager, for example, Lando does actually acknowledge faults within our team, as does Leon, as do I, as does Redtrader, as does Sabre, and so on.

I prefer the latter, because disrespecting your own in my book isn't what being a 'supporter' is about.

Too true im afraid, and I also have been guilty of that. Responding to the insults rather than the reason.

I don't think Lando, Sabre, Redtrader or even Leon tend to write over the top posts, * maybe Red tinted glasses ones. While you don't tend to write many footballing posts really.

The examples you give are the extreme, whereas the majority of the "doom and gloomers" such as Bigmick, JBG, Bamaga, peewee don't tend to write Rafa's a c..t. but give reasoned views.

I am talking about the normal over-reaction by supporters both when we win and lose, not the one or two who go so far over the top.

I try to see both sides but I admit that lately the doom and gloomers have seemed to have had every advantage.

I don't see anything disrespectful in saying that Rafa got it wrong, or that Riise had a bad game. I think thats part and parcel of football. The idea imo is to give honest opinion not trying to prove how great a supporter you are by turning a blind eye to any problems. As I have said before, most support Liverpool inspite of our problems not because we have none.

There's a clear difference between abuse/unreasonable comments which some of those you cited have used (e.g. 'Rafa's an idiot'..'a clown'...'greedy'...'only here for the money'....'I wouldn't p!ss on him if he were on fire'....etc.) and saying Rafa got it wrong, a statement that the perceived 'rose tinted' brigade will quite happily assert, just not in the self serving and condescending manner which the D&G'ers are renowned for.

It's the readiness and instinctiveness with which some posters - including a couple you mention - to slate their own team and manager that I find unreasonable and unremittingly self serving.

When Liverpool win, every "true fan" is happy. It's a victory for our club, and it's something to be proud of, whether it's against Inter Milan or Havant and Waterlooville. It's the same outcome in the end, a victory, so they're both as important.

When Liverpool lose every "true fan" feels pain and despair. It's another knock on our club. It's another result we've failed to do what's expected.

On the other hand the not so "true fans" are so wound up with the state the club is in love it when we lose. So they can slate Rafa or the owners. Likewise if Kuyt doesn't score, everyone who dislikes him is smiling because they can slaughter him.

That's where problems lie, too many people from both sides on the Rafa Benitez defence are to some extent hoping we lose. We need to come together and unify in our backing of Liverpool Football Club. Not the americans, not the manager, not even the players, but as a unified set of fans who want Liverpool Football Club to succeed.

No rose tinted fans, no "good blinded" fans. By that I obviously mean the ones who can't see the good in a particual somebody. We have one thing in common if nothing else, our love for our club. Lets come together and back the boys from top to bottom until the end of the season, and if there is anybody who disagrees, IF we win the Champions League this season, if you're not prepared to back the club, then please don't bask in our glory this May.

Now sing it with me, "lets come together, right now, in sweet harmony, lets come together"

Every post I have ever written is endorsed by God, Allah, Jesus, Buddha, St Peter and Rafael Benitez.

The only "God" who fails to endorse my views is Mohammed, on account of my joke earlier.

But he'll come round - he knows I'm always right. :D

I'm not sure about peewee, but I wouldn't think any of the others I quoted would use such phrases, I am sure I haven't seen them. I would be surprised indeed if there was a couple of them that had used those phrases.

I am sure however that there are problems on both sides. The "happy clappers" wont admit any fault lies with Rafa and the Doom and gloomers see little if anything positive in Rafa........Both at this moment in time. I am sure as the season progresses the lines will become clearer and opinions will harden, before a gradual shift towards one side or the other.

A CL final will see more an more opinions softening towards Rafa, a failure to progress and top 4 failure will see a hardening of attitude towards him.

just not in the self serving and condescending manner which the D&G'ers are renowned for.

Maybe they have an equal grievance against the way they are spoken to by the "Happy clappers" or the abuse which they are renound for ?

I'm sure if I checked at least one of those phrases has been used by at least one of those posters, but I'll leave that there.

Who are these happy clappers, and when have they failed to admit that Rafa is immune from fault? Even the most ardent pro-Rafa posters admit they disagree with his policies at times.

It's a myth that one.

I haven't seen much evidence that would support that statement.

One that comes immediately to mind is your post to Heimdall "don't ever quote one of my posts again c.unt".

No doubt if I could be bothered I could supply many more
