Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

yes.

Watched the Manure vs Arsenal game at the weekend, so many players were rested as their big games are tonight. Wenger basically sacrificed the FA cup as the Milan game is bigger, Ferguson rested Ronaldo & giggs (can't remember if Tevez played) . Rafa rested SG and Torres and Reina (three players that never miss a big game when fit)

FA cup is very much third in line - waaaay behind other two.

The league is all that counts for LFC for the rest of the season - good CL run is exciting but if we don't get that 4th place then the season is a total disaster (unless win CL to qualify next season)

Its all well and good to put on the rose tinted glasses but there are still some serious problems with out team that need to be addressed. You only have to look at our league position to see that.
My new blog for my upcoming holiday.

You a*seholes never know when to give up, do you?

FFS - get a set of b*llocks and back the man, instead of taking the "Oh, it's oh-so-clever-and-ever-so-popular to be the voice of discontent."

We've just beaten one of the World's best teams, you morbid bunch of sad acts.

Go and f*ck yourselves, the lot of you. You're not fans - you wait and hope for a loss  to add more ammo to your ever-more-desperate arsenal of bullsh*t.

You stupid, stupid little boys.

Congratulations Lando you finally made me laugh.
People are slating the article, which is rose tinted horse :censored:, not Rafa.
Winning one game does not vindicate him at all, we still look sh1t in the league and whilst 2-0 is a great win and I'm really happy about it the tie is not over yet, we still have to go to the San Siro and resist an onslaught for 90 minutes, but I have a feeling we can do it, there is something weird about us in the Champions League we always mange to squeeze through somehow.  :buttrock  :buttrock

there was nothing new about last night, Rafa did not show us anything that we did not know.

he is a great CL manager, but we need more that that.

Why? Will the result of that match stop us going to the San Siro with a 2 goal advantage in the best, and hardest, competition in club football?

And if we beat Middlesborough, will you then give Rafa the credit he deserves?

(Or will that just be "1 game out of...")

great article. especially like this bit.

Also, solid as Everton have been this season, it remains to be seen whether Moyes can sustain such form over a longer period or instead lurch into another battle against relegation as per their one-terrific-season-followed-by-one-terrible-season model. And, of course, you might also question whether it's worth Everton qualifying for the Champions League bearing in mind their farcical venture into it in 2005-06.

Lando i dont know any Liverpool supporters who dont think we played well last night, got a great result and that Rafa deserves praise.
Once again in Europe he got it spot on, we were dominating before the sending off (which i thought was harsh but didnt help us either)

While we are all made up with the result its still leaves so many questions unanswered, hence the motivation thread being started.

We have so far had a disatrous league campaign, and are out of both domestic cups losing to Barnsley at home in the FA. That is not acceptable and the Inter result while i hope i am wrong in this has probably just papered over what seems like major cracks.

Credit where its due though, the manager pulled another rabbit out of the hat last night and if we win against Boro on Saturday that will be a start but we cant just dismiss whats gone on so far this season.
We said it after the Chelsea result and after the 8-0 against Besiktas but lets hope this massive result and performance can act as a catalyst for the rest of the season.
If it doesnt though and we continue with this shocking league form then last nights results relevance will be lost to most fans.

There we are - a balanced post which doesn't ignore the positives.

Now the question I pose is simple:

Why are you the only one? :D

Sorry Lando he has had 25 games in the prem to show us what he can do, one good result will show nothing.

we know he is a Great CL manager and i feel we have a very good chance of winning the cup.

But for me Liverpool fc is about being the best team in England, something we have not been for some time ( only the last few years being down to Rafa not the full 18 years).

I do think Rafa has got himself a side that could win the prem but i dont think he is up to it himself.

Rafa has always had my full respect when it comes to the CL and there is no one better than him at it.

I've read the last great mail of the Anorak. One of the best things I can get in the inbox this days and a great read. Has he shared it here already? It's a great read, for the pro Rafa campers anyway :D
