Anyone got it? Always comes about this time of year. I'm laced with it. Can't do f'ck all work apart from use the computer. The smell of turps would only add to my dumbed down train of thought. My back's stiff as fook, and got about 4 hours sleep.

I'm not looking sympathy or anything. Tough if I could, I'd love to sneeze on a few f*ckers on this forum so that they could join me in my pain.

Got over it a couple of weeks ago. It's strange, I rarely get the flu. This year I did, the strange thing is that it was not a 5 days process but a sudden proccess of 2 days.

Be glad you can use the computer, sometimes it fúcks you to the point that if you are awaken or on front of a screen you get dizzy.

Patience, and rest mate.

I had a strange tip of flu last month. I wasn't dying from it or anything but it hung around for a whole month and just bothered the life out of me. I couldn't really understand why I couldn't shake it off as I eat well and don't smoke.

Trouble is with these 'bugs' - there is no winter any more to speak of to kill them off...so they stick around. Extremes of temperatures necessary for their demise, appear to be a thing of folklore these days. At least here in the North-West. I can't truthfully say i can remember clearly enough the last time there was a 'reasonable' winter for a good few years now.

Climate change/Solar Cycles...call it what you will. There's a big difference in our weather patterns.

KTWS - I say.

Well, believe it or not, us Irish got the drinking stigma from back in the day because of the flu and similar bugs. In old damp places like Cork and Limerick city, the cold and the rain kept the air down low and stagnant so the bugs thrived. Our only means of ailing an illness was what was at hand - booze. Mostly in the form of potchine.

At least this is what I'm told. Sounds plausible.

I've never had the flu - get the odd cold but no big deal and still go to work, I'm not one of those b*tches that gets a cold and thinks its the flu.

The flu can kill - MOST (not neccessarily you) people that say they have the flu are just pussies with a cold.

I'm from Limerick - I assumed the reason for the drinking is because it is such a sh!te city - Cork people (who have the biggest chips on their shoulder) probably got competitive and said "you call that alcoholism, we'll show you what alcoholism is"

I'm from Limerick (Co.) myself, mate. Moved from it a long time ago.
