INTER MILAN vs LIVERPOOL: CL-11/03/08 - 2nd Leg - Build up and Match Discussion

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Who cares, the reason they're haven't been in the European Cup is down to them being cheats.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

That's nothing a supporter can affect if it's being done clandestinely.

You were clearly implying that he was in some way, or in some part responsible for Juventus being unable to participate in European competition.

If you didn't have to cheat to earn league titles you wouldn't of went those two years.

where?

I haven't went YOU personally were involved, it's all down to YOU and YOU alone.

I've used the generalistion of the word you, meaning JUVENTUS AS A CLUB in this case.

"Shouldn't be a match fixing bunch of ***** then should you?

There it is - clearly implying that he was in some part to blame for not being able to participate in European competition. 'Bunch' being the operative word.

There's nothing the players, the supporters, the tea lady, or the overwhelming majority of people who constitute Juventus FC could have done.

It was one or two rogue directors, they are to blame - not Juventus FC.

Just as if G&H decided to fix the Premiership in our favour and got found out, I'd take exception to someone saying to me: 'you shouldn't be a bunch of match fixing c....s then should you?'.

Why? because they wouldn't be part of Liverpool FC, they wouldn't constitute Liverpool FC in any way. To imply that their supporters are a part of this 'match fixing bunch of c....s' is pathetic.

I'd like to think you'd take exception that also.

Reina

Finnan    Carra    Hyypia    Arbeloa

Pennant     Gerrard     Mascherano  Riise

                  Crouch   Torres

I have gone for balance rather than perhaps a more skillful but risky line up. We need a cleansheet and probably 2 goals to give us a good chance in the return leg. I considered playing Kewell behind Torres but in the end went with Crouch, but if Torres isn't fit I would play Kewell behind Crouch.

Obviously you don't understand certain phrases I say. Bunch doesn't mean every single body, it means them as a club. As a club they cheated. Doesn't matter how many of the club, but as a club they cheated.

I don't know about that Gerrard and Masch midfield combo, it worked well against Marseille but the passing was terrible.  I'd still go with Masch,Alonso,Gerrard midfield, we need to control the midfield and masch is going to have to do a lot of cleaning up.

I am thinking about Gerrard on the right in Italy, but I think we are going to need Pennant to provide width at home. If Crouch plays he will be useful in setting Crouchie up with crosses, and if Kuyt plays, Pennants presence should at least keep Kuyt central, which may lead to the ball unknowingly glancing off his knee into the goal

"I saw them held to a draw at home to Aston Villa and no, they were not at their best. But that is not the Liverpool I expect to see when we play at Anfield.

"I expect to see the Liverpool of old, the Liverpool that have contested two of the last three Champions League finals, the Liverpool that gave us the greatest final ever in Istanbul against AC Milan. After which, every Inter supporter went out a bought a Liverpool shirt. :D

"Everyone knows Liverpool, with their history and tradition, are a different team in the Champions League. European nights lift this famous club.

"It is in their blood. They respond - and their supporters respond with them.

"That is why we will have to produce an incredible performance at Anfield. We may have a fantastic record in Serie A but that doesn't mean anything when you come to big European nights.

"Liverpool have great players, yet I still think the most important thing is the team," added Mancini.

"They have a very English centre but other players with European vision. In fact, an Italian vision.

"I don't like to talk about individual players. It sends the wrong message to your own team. But I will admit this. Gerrard and Carragher are the most important players in the Liverpool team - more so even than Fernando Torres.

"They represent everything great about Liverpool. They are the soul of the team."
