Still talking about work-rate...Sometimes i think rafa only values work-rate and doesn't give a sh1t about the player's technical ability....... When will he learn that you don't have to run around like a headless chicken to make an impact....

RAFA: WE MUST PICK OURSELVES UP
Jimmy Rice 16 February 2008
Rafa Benitez believes Liverpool cannot afford to wallow in their shock FA Cup exit ahead of the Champions League clash with Inter.
The Reds have just three days to pick themselves up from the 2-1 home defeat to Barnsley.

Benitez admits his side's wastefulness in front of goal cost them dear on Saturday – but insists it's more productive to concentrate on Inter than to start a post-mortem.

He said: "I am frustrated because in the last month we have talked about the same things: missed chances and the goalkeeper being man of the match. We could not kill the game and we conceded in the last minute.

"Gerrard said the other day that we must be more ruthless and it's true. We must kill games.

"I don't know how many chances we had, but if you think about it, from the left side, right side, set pieces and between the lines, we had so many chances and their 'keeper was fantastic. For me to come to a press conference and explain after the number of clear chances we had is hard.

"But I said to the players at the end that, in terms of the workrate, you cannot blame them. In terms of chances, you must approach the next game in the same way. It's just making sure we take our chances.

"We know we have to keep going. This game is finished, and though we must be really, really disappointed because we are out of the competition like other Premier League teams, we must start thinking about the next game now.

"Everybody is disappointed but we cannot change anything now. We must try to prepare for the next game as well as we can."

Asked if he regretted his decision not to start with skipper Steven Gerrard, Benitez added: "If you play against Barnsley at Anfield and you are thinking about just one player, then something is wrong."

rafa might as well not say anything after games as just says the same thing over and over again.  no doubt one particular journalist will find yet another excuse 4 rafa and people on here will call it a classic article.
