Were there any 20+ million pound world class match winners on our bench today?

no but I'm  sure Malouda and Obi Mikel Jon or whatever order that name goes in both cost a pretty penny

Joe theres lads been sitting in the reserves for years who dont and will not get a look in.

My point was we are down to the bare bones in the defender stakes so to go to Chelsea with a kid of 17 sitting on the bench and a new kid on the block Skrtel who has only played against a load of painter & decorators and Sunderland, played extremly well.

I have my gripes when Rafa plays defensive but today he had every right to considering the circumstances.

Hyypia reads the game well but his lack of pace is costly as is Carra's not that either had pace to begin with its just that the league has gotten harder no teams are push overs any more none of them.

Ciggy, if you can't wait to see Skrtel and Agger, what you going to do with Carra?  3 centre backs? Carra at RB?

Malouda and Obi Mikel Jon cost around 32 million, because Chelsea had to pay United 12 million extra for him.

Malouda was 15 thank feck we didnt sign him hes been cr@p anyway.

And Obi Awol cost a fair amount.

I would guess she's thinking long-term. Carra's just turned 30 and won't play on forever.

Carra's been poor since christmas ,if he carries on that way ,i can see him getting alot more time to rest.

I think he is 18 going on 19 in April, not 17, and I only pointed out the fact that he had been here since the summer because the announcer said that we had just signed him, which I took as he was implying a January signing which would have been incorrect.  And I said I was surprised because I would have thought Huth, Darby, or Insua would have been higher up in the pecking order than San Jose

And I also agree that Skrtel played really well.

But if you could have garunteed that we would keep the clean sheet anyway, I sure would have liked to see why Rafa brought San Jose along

Joe, Carras getting old now mate, he has been making far to many mistakes covering for Hyypia and Finnan this season.
The prem is getting quicker Carra will die for Liverpool it doesnt mean he is the best defender in the world.

He needs to have a rest cant expect him to play every game theres a few more seasons left in the old goat yet.

I thought we played well and were good value for the draw. It says something about the performance when people on here are moaning we didn't win when most people predicted a draw/loss before the game :p

Marks out of 10:

Reina  6  Decent although flapped a couple of times. No real saves to make.

Finnan 7  Solid defensively but understandably came forward little.
Carra 7 Solid and dependable.
Skrtel 9 Made some important challenges and did well to intercept a lot of passes.
Riise 6 Again, solid at the back. Could have delivered crosses earlier. That header :O

Babel 7 When he ran at the defense he caused problems. His left foot crossing was bad though.
Gerrard 5 Misplaced passes and was all over the place when he should have stayed disciplined. Was he supposed to be on the right?
Lucas 6 Good but not spectacular.
Masch 8 Another great game. Loses a point because he nearly cost us a pen.

Kuyt 8 Provided width and at least he's getting into goalscoring positions again.
Crouch 7 Was a constant problem for Chelsea but he should have scored.

Pennant 6 Showed some skill but we were too penned back for him to make a decent impact.

Evenin all  :D im made up simply because there was a good few players out there today with a bit of fire in there belly and thats what i wanted to see. I know before the game i predicted a 1-0 win but that was my heart talkin before this game the way we have been playing lately i would have bite yer hand off for a draw,

We looked like the home team imo never gave them a sniff defence was outstanding espesialy Skrtel cracking prospect and great buy by Raffa.

Masherano :censored: unbelievable again the tackle on Ballack made him look a joke. IF these yanks are lying about theve given us the money for him and it turns ti.ts up im gonna shoot them myself the money has to be found from somewhere to tie him down for the rest of his life to us. And id make him Captain . You get a player that comes along like him once in a blue moon the man is gonna be a legand

I havnt read the thread but i bet every Kuyt hater is havin a go again well today lads he done ok worked his a.rse off made some good interventions when covering for the roamin Gerrard and put a few desent crosses in only thing that let him down was his final touch from Gerrard near the end of the game. He actualy had a desent game.

Gerrard erm what can i say nothing

Impressed with Lucas again the lads coming on leaps and bounds and his positional play is exeptional always looking where hes gonna play the ball even before hes recieved it so made up with him.

Crouch should of scored but all in all im happy tonight cause we werent gutless , closed down every ball and never gave that little :censored: cole a look in :D

My hands are in the air. I questioned the 18 million price tag of Mascheranho, but today he showed me that he's worth double that at least. The more and more I see the fella, the better he seems to be getting. His tackling was brilliant and he made a few good surging runs from the middle. Well played lad.

As for the overall game, I'm disappointed, I don't see it as a point gained, I see it as two lost. We've fallen further behind City/Villa/Everton and fourth spot is looking less and less likely with each passing game and the way we're going we could struggle to even make the UEFA Cup places, so Europe is our only outlet this season. We might as well accept it now, and throw all our efforts into winning that because otherwise next season there is going to be no European football for Liverpool FC (which may not be a bad thing because it'll enfore the manager to concentrate solely on the Premiership)
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

We really could have had them today, I thought we played very well and was really impressed with Mash he was immense today.

If only Crouch could have put one away. We looked like the home team for a lot of the match and it was a performance we needed going into the Milan game.

We needed the 3 points but so did they and all in all a point away to Chelsea without Torres is a good result.

John we played well and yes we should have taken the three points but dont tell me you wouldnt have taken a draw before the game on our recent form , 99% of the posters on here never gave us a chance but we showed bottle today John and thats alot of whats been missing in recent games . Players playing like they couldnt give a S.hit well most of them put there cards on the table today apart from the odd one or two im not even gonna give a mention to.

Top class strikers today would have given us the three points

I am made up we come away with a draw we could have won, there are times and places to lose your rag over draws, against the likes of Pompey, Wigan, Brum etc.

But Arsenal, and Man U would accpet a draw there also.

Its a major boost considering the way we have been playing lately.

And we have the best away record in the league and have only lost 3 games they say the table doesnt lie but IMO it does.

Because Everton have been sh!te and won, we have played well and drawn.

Yep i agree with that, its a very fine line between where we are now and challenging for the prem, how many draws have we had that we deserved to lose? not many, its just a goal here and there we're missing.... and two wingers and a creative striker but my point stands.  :D
