Momo is still a good player and he's only having a bad run of form. But this bad run is going on for too long! Rafa should stick him in the reserves to regain his confidence and form before throwing him into the 1st team. Based on current form, Lucas should have started against Reading, going by Rafa's formation. We were also hindered by bad refeering decisions during the Reading match - that tackle on Torres in the 1s half obviously warrant a penalty! That idiotic must have been either blind or a big Reading or Man U fan!!! F**king idiot!

And when will Riise ever learn how to make a decent cross? Decent cross, not beckham-type super-duper cross! He's so technically retarded that it's so painful just to see his name on the 1st team sheet, not to mention his crossing ability! It's about time we sell him in Jan!

I blame Zenden. He bailed on us when we needed him the most.

Yeah agree if we had him, Igor, Kozma, Kvarme, Piechnik and Dundee in the team Saturday we wouldn't be having this negative discussion.

There's debate to be had here.

Sissoko for me has been and is a diamond of a find.  I personally think he's a top player and as usual Mick's spot on.  It's down to confidence with Sissoko.  He's lacking it at the minute I think, and it's clearly having an effect.  Some might disagree and you are entitled to disagree.  It just looks to me though that Sissoko is playing without confidence.

Well said Jonny.

Momo is always the scapegoat at the moment. Watch the game again and tell me what Mascherano did in that game? Momo won the ball for us many times. Yes he then gave it away a lot, and I'm not denying that. But in the last few games I've seen Mascher, Carra, Sami, StevieG all play stupid balls to the opposition in very dangerous positions and put us in trouble, but these just get glossed over. Momo's got himself a reputation and people IMHO are too quick to jump on the bandwagon.

a lot of things were wrong in the reading game:-

playing crouch and voronin in the wide positions, 2 defensive midfielders, riise, taking gerrard and torres off.

you might get away with one of those mistakes away from home in the prem - but not all of them!

carra hasn't been mentioned either - he had a terrible game. who was the experienced centre half - hobbs or carra ? !!!!!

How about a combination of things?

Players being sh*t on the day, the ref being an imbecile, Voronin and Crouch not doing the jobs asked of them, Rafa not willing to risk his best players against a team of sh*tehawks with 2 crucial matches coming up, and tactics that didn't really work once we were behind.

Oh, and the hatfull of missed chances, which were obviously as a result of the formation change... ???

Stayed away from here since the game coz I figured it would be the usual combo of angry fans venting, finger-pointing and in some cases, posters re-repeating stuff they have repeated a million times before as if it was the first time they'd said it. Mind you, it's the same after a win or two with all and sundry going over the top and proclaiming the 'title is coming home'.

My take on the game - Reading played well, we were a bit gung-ho at times, we created several good chances, their Keeper played a blinder, we missed some good chances and got caught by an excellent free-kick and then with too many men forward chasing the game, we caught for the 3rd. I won't be complaining about Rafa's formation. He played a strange lop-sided formation with just one winger two weeks ago at Newcastle and turned them over, he played an even stranger 3-6-1 (ish) formation at Newcastle two seasons back and again we won the game 3-1, he played 3-4-3 at Wigan last season and won the game 3-0. I don't recall him getting much credit for his tactics on here at the time for any of those games BUT if we'd lost them i've no doubt many of you would have pointed to the formation.

However, I was also dissapointed with his substitutions. In fact, once or twice a season Rafa completely baffles me with his subs and this was one of those games for me. Clearly he feels it was more worthwhile to save the legs of Torres and Gerrard for the two games ahead, i wouldn't have done it myself. I hated seeing Gerrard go off as much as anyone else BUT if we win the next two games everything will be rosy, Peewee (and a few others) will go quiet again untill the next loss and just about everyone else will be doing the can-can and toasting the manager.

Agreed with everything except the formation mate.

I think Benitez got the formation wrong, I thought he should have played Babel or Kewell instead of Voronin( I knew he made a mistake before the game). I thought Sissoko had a decent game, not completely rubbish no, he had some good moments on the pitch, battled hard and worked hard. Our width didnt offer much, so Torres and Crouch didn't get enough service.

The only thing I'll blame is that some of our players are not good enough to play for liverpool every week. We don't have an adequate replacement for Torres and we don't have a backup defender. I'm patient to see what happens until the end of the season and I think that Manc game could be a turning point to our season (If we beat them), so lets hope for the best.

.You might be a momo sisssoko fan but i totally disagree you not because i am biased to sissoko its just he hasnt got any talent on the ball. His best attribute is his tackling which we have javier and lucas who can pass the ball and alot more things with the ball

There isnt a place for momo in this liverpool squad i would much prefer 12 million for him and i would like to come back to planet earth and realise that he is not meant for the top flight football

Tactics and formation for me. Simple as that. Roation as a close second mind you. But it's the tactics that have to be blamed, they haven't suited our better players.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.
