I might agree with your reasoning except that Mascherano is a young player with a bright present who is turning in MOM performances on virtually a weekly basis (and I say this as a staunch Alonso supporter). If you want Lucas to get a game, support Rafa and rotation. If you want to field a best 11 week in, week out, pick the Argie.

There is no chance of GHJH using the words "rafa and support " in the same sentence never mind rotation lol. :laugh:

I would be happy with either Zambrotta or Sagnol in place of Alves, but they are "getting on a bit" so I went for Alves.

Mancini is a goalscoring winger who can play either wing.

Aguero is a goalscoring creative second striker. I haven't seen much of him or Diego for some time so I chose him purely on age over Diego. I would be delighted if we got either.

Neither Kewell or Van der Vaart are true wingers anymore, but both have good touch and great passing and vision and would add balance to the team. If Kewell shows no intent to become more involved and continues acting like a pussy for the rest of this season, bring in Van der Vaart who is probably a class above Kewell now anyway.

I have seen nothing of Insua but either he is good enough to step up next season or we have plenty of left backs that can do a job. Lahm would have been great but too much money maybe.

Here is one loose theory:
Reina

off, but depending on Skrtel's progress its possible, would still keep Finnan around as solid cover, would sell Riise and keep Aurelio unless we signed Taylor, even though he is young I am VERY confident that between him and Insua we can shore up the LB spot for a LONG time. Would send Darby on loan, use Hobbs as cover, and Hyypia would probably be let go.

Would sell Alonso and bring back Guthrie to use as cover, use the Alonso money for a creative wide player. Resign Kewell if he will take a small contact. Sell off Leto, bring back Hammill and or Anderson.

Sell Kuyt and Voronin
Ideally bring in David Villa, or Huntelaar, but I could see both of them being busts. I like the idea of Deigo or an Alonso plus the cash from Kuyt and Voronin for Eto'o

See what kind of price we could get for Young or Agbonlahor (swap with Carson) or Nasri

give Bruna and or Pacheco a chance to live up to their hype.

we should look into signing Joe Mattock, only 17 and he plays for the England U21s
as well as Jozy Altidore
Angel Di Maria (20 y.o. Argie winger for Benfica)
Diego Buonanotte (19 y.o. attacking mid from River Plate) or the Brazilian version Ranato Augusto

i think quaresma would be about 18 mill Borre 8-10 & silva 15-18 mill so i think its realistic & i think all the players would come 2 us aswell

I think thats pretty good for only having to buy one player heh? Valencia, bar a massive improvement will be having a clearout and Id take either of there left wingers, the rest of that team is good enough IMO, though id probably prefer a 442 which would be a touch more ambitous

I think for next season we're going to see many players leaving and many players coming in, no matter if Rafa stays or not.

can't say I have heard of Emanuelson before, I now know he plays for Ajax, but is he fast, good tackler, attacking etc?

I think we will need better than Babel on the wing next season, but apart from that a decent team.

I've seen Emanuelson a few times before and this guy is really good. He's fast, very good with the ball, he is a good finisher and can play as a left midfielder, but needs work to work on defending. Basically this kid has a great future and I think him and Babel can form a great partner ship together on the left side. They are both dutch, the same age, and they both won the U 21 Championship together.

Another good young kid is Jonathon De Guzman from Feryenoord. A natural left winger as well.

I think that you have some nice players there, especially Robben because he is not fitting in so well at Madrid and he might be looking to come back to England. Silva is a very good young talent too who might also be looking to change clubs if Valencia don't make the CL. We'd scare the sh!t out of everyone with those two on the wings.

If we spend big bucks again on another top striker I wouldn't mind going after Clint Dempsey, a lot of you will say he isn't of the Liverpool standard, but he would be pretty cheap and better than Kewell, he can play on either wing or behind the striker and he is a decent goal threat, AND I think his game would only get better playing with other top players, which might take a little bit of getting used to
