Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

I dont know how anyone can make a judgement on Arbeloa, I doubt
very much whether anyone saw enough of him before he came to LFC.

I think you've missed the point, he was still 1st choice
for Argentina when at West Ham

he was one of the best midfielders at the world cup only 6 months before rafa signed him

rafa hardley revived his career

and he certainly hasnt performed up to his world cup standard (which was pretty exceptional)

so he hasnt improved under rafa yet

When Mascherano pulls on an Argentina top, it's like Banana Man eating a Banana. He transforms into Super Masch and even bags himself a few goals.

There is not ONE player who has improved under Raffa but there is a fair bit of a squad who are totally disallusioned and mystified by the management.

Jamie Carragher was a utility full back until Rafa came in he is arguably now the best centre half in Europe, Arbeloa has proved an excellent aquisition and Rafa has truned him into a full spanish international, Peter Crouch has gone from freakish circus act in the reserves at Southampton to England stalwart (I know he initially made his England debut as a Southampton player but he was arguably selected cus everyone else pulled out of the USA games).

This thread is pointless, and another poor attempt at an attack on Rafa with little credence, no proof and one that has been wholey proven wrong.

I will close it in 10 mins unless someone can tell me a good reason not to.

Leon I think it's gone bit over the 10 minute mark pal, close it.
1) You'll Never Walk Alone
2) pass and move is the Liverpool groove
3) FIRST WILL ALWAYS BE FIRST AND SECOND WILL ALWAYS BE NOTHING.
4) If Torres has scored 60 league goals for Liverpool by the start of the 2011/12 season, I'll say he's better than Owen.

Nuff Said !

Have to agree with johnbull....players don't really seem to progress under rafa.....

1)Kuyt
2)sissoko
3)voronin - that was fast...he played 5 matches quite well..and its all downhill
4)Crouch - He was good last year....but this year he is so average..rafa has to take his share of the blame for this one.
5)Riise - the most shocking. From being one of the LBs every team wanted to have (he scored loads of goals from LB)...he is a joke now.
6)Alonso -

i agree with johnbull also

only really carragher, arebeloa and crouch have significantly improved

others have come and stayed at the same level in my opinion or got progressively worse

hyypia
finnan
gerrard (was maybe better before rafa came)
alonso (came a great player, now isnt even a garanteed first teamer)
sissoko (came with promise, left a worse player)
reina - if you ask his old team he was a quality keep anyway
mascherano - after watching him in the world cup no way has he progressed under rafa

carragher - has progressed in my opinion
crouch - has improved
benayoun - same
pennant - worse off now than at birmingham
riise - worse
morientes - came a great player, left a good player
kewell - has got worse
kuyt - has got worse
torres - still early days
arbeloa - has improved
bellamy - in his time here he certainly didnt improve
ciise - came a player with great potential, left an awful striker

Hyypia-is coming to the end of his career, its called the ageing process, happens to the best of us pal!

Finnan-see above! His past two seasons were fantastic, this is also a player who, when Rafa arrived he was going to sell, turns out he didn't now Steve has Champions league and FA Cup medals.

Kewell-Everyone knows he's been ravaged by injuries, nothin to do with Rafa.

Cisse-came with potential...yes potential which he failed to live up to due to a severe lack of a football brain.

Gerrard-Was better before Benitez came??.....

You're an empty head.

I am all for constructive criticism, and I wholehartedly implore people to debate the problems at the club, but lets not:

1) Just make stuff up
2) Re-gurgitate age old bulls.hit (Paco etc)
3) Talk total bolloc.ks
4) Post before we think

Thanks
