Viwhere do you reckon we'll end up in the pl? - Bbc predictor...

Liverpool Football Club - General Discussion

Postby JamCar05 » Sun Feb 03, 2008 12:01 pm

Alright. I did this BBC predictor thingy to try to imagine, where we might end up in the Premier League table this season (I know, I've got too much time on my hands :D ). Now of course it's impossible to predict how teams will be playing in just a months time, so my predicted table is calculated very much by the form the teams are currently in. Nevertheless I've tried to be as honest and unbiased as possible. It should be noted, that I was mostly interested in the teams concerned with the top of the table, so some of my predictions in games between bottom-teams were done without giving them much consideration. Anyway, this is how my table turned out:

    Team:       Points:

01 Mancs          93
02 Arsenal         92
03 Chelsea        85
04 LIVERPOOL    74
05 Blueshite       71
06 Villa              66
07 Tottenham     60
08 Portsmouth     58
09 Blackburn       58
10 Man City        55
11 West Ham      48
12 Newcastle      42
13 Middlesbrough 37
14 Bolton            35
15 Sunderland      34
16 Wigan             33
17 Reading           33
18 Fulham            25
19 Birmingham       24
20 Derby              15

As this suggests, I see it as a close fight for 4th with Everton and maybe Villa as an outsider. It could go right down to the wire. This also concerns the title (hope Arsenal nick it). At the bottom I don't seem to have much faith in Birmingham for some reason :D, and my table also suggests Man City will totally crumble in the latter stages of the season. Anyway, it's just a bit of fun and thinking ahead, so try it out yourself, if you can be bothered: http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2....ult.stm

Edit: if the mods feel this should have been in an already existing thread, feel free to move it. I just think it is different to the normal "where will we end up threads", as you actually try to focus on each teams remaining fixtures and thus try to calculate a more "realistic" end of the season table.

I just did it, for some reason Chelsea-Spurs is missing from the predictor so I've added the points on myself.

1 Arsenal  95
2 Man Utd 90
3 Liverpool 79
4 Chelsea 76
5 Villa 68
6 Portsmouth 67
7 Man City 64
8 Everton 63
9 Blackburn 61
10 West Ham 58
11 Spurs 47
12 Newcastle 41
13 Reading 40
14 Boro 35
15 Wigan 30
16 Sunderland 30
17 Bolton 29
18 Birmingham 25
19 Fulham 17
20 Derby 14

With hindsight I may have been a little optimistic with our results (no defeats!). We should resurrect this thread atthe end of the season to see how accurate we were!

:D Ha ha

Well I just think that there are too many off field events taking place that is stopping the team for focusing and gaining any momentum. And now all the DIC talk is going to start again....

We have looked awful at home at times this year and I just think that securing 4th maybe harder than we think.
